A great coach and philosopher. I'm hoping to steal him away from ya'll by offering him a pay raise.

You all are having a true rebuilding year. You lost a lot of talent the last two years. I think I would give him two years before really looking at if he is the right coach. Dude has made LSU relevant in the title hunt for a lot of years. QB has been his Achilles heal but I truly think Harris can be good. Not sure Cam is the right OC though. Chavis still a top DC.
Completely agree.
Miles is good but the amount of players LSU has lost to the draft the past 2 years any school would be hurting. Hell CBB said his biggest recruit last year was convincing Flowers to stay another year.

Miles is a good coach and I like the guy.

Please enlighten us on why LSU can't land a great coach

I think he is a good to great coach, likeable, a players coach, and a good recruiter.
He has that "it" factor coaches like Saban and Freeze don't have. People generally really like him.
The team this season is young and full of talent. With a Qback, you would be very dangerous this season, just wait. next year will be better and the year after will be great!

If he was fired for any reason, he would immediately have many job offers greeting him as he left the LSU campus

Good guy and solid coach. He may be more of a recruiter, but that's a very important part of the job. I think LSU fans who want to run him off to Ann Arbor are playing with fire. Most years, the guy is good for at least 10-11 wins. Every three years, LSU is legitimate national title contender.
I think what hurts Les is the fact his predecessor is running a dynasty at one of the program's biggest rivals. If Nick Saban is still in the NFL or doing this in a different conference, Miles would be a lot more popular I think.
It reminds me of how a segment of Mizzou fans want to run off Gary Pinkel. Dude's not a great X and O's coach, but he's gotten the job done and put Mizzou football on the map.

Yeah, if he doesn't let his OC go the way he wants then he is a moron.

Because there aren't very many great coaches. Most aren't looking to leave.

Seems to be a fairly good guy as far as coaches go.
I just think he doesn't trust his players and never has on the offensive side of the ball. If your offense looks the same year in and year out in this day and age something is wrong. That means your strategy doesn't change even if the skill sets of your personnel does change.

Hard to keep it going this day and time. Looks like him and LSU need a new start.
Also he needs to go to a location where he can understand the locals and the locals can understand him.

Let's just be brutally honest, here. Although there are quite a few good recruits that come out of LA high schools each season, most of them just don't pan out.
Any wonder why Alabama only had NINE state of Louisiana players on their team, in the illustrious history of the program, before Saban's arrival?
Finding a really good, non-artificially inflated, home grown Louisiana player is truly like finding a diamond in the rough.
I'm not saying that there haven't been some good players from LA and I'm not saying that Saban hasn't found a few that have actually played meaningful time, it's just hard.
That is because there is something about Louisiana players that just make them naturally inclined to be losers, laid back, French cultured loafers and not best suited to play football.
So, to be truthful, we can't blame Leslie's morass completely on him. It has a lot to do with what he has to pick from.

Definitely a lower echelon coach in regards to, uh, coaching ability. Perhaps the luckiest to ever coach major college football.

Did you ever see that old movie that starred Peter Sellers,Titled,:Being There?
Les miles reminds me of the main character.

That's just stupid. Louisiana produces more NFL players per capita than anyone and is #6 in total NFL players.

Honest opinion? He's getting paid too much and has gotten too comfortable at LSU. He is content and needs a little fire down his neck.

Hey idiot, La. is consistently ranked at the top of states with the most players in the NFL per capita.
LSU is in the top two or three college teams with the most players in the NFL also. Damn you're a dumb MF.

That must be why Saban was so adamant about putting up a fence around La. when he became the coach at LSU. He still recruits La. players very hard and would have much more than 9 players if he had his way.

How many starters does Bama have from the state of Al.? I quickly glanced at the depth chart and only counted four or five starters. Must be something about the fat, lazy, redneck culture that makes Saban shy away from wanting to keep them at Bama.
