Muschamp went to Texas because of the reality that its alot easier to transition from a coordinator to a head coaching job in the Big 12. He was following the precedent of another former Auburn D coordinator, Gene Chizik, who went to Texas and is now the head man at Iowa State.

There were 2 issues with Muschamp and when/why he left....

Supposedly one he was from Georgia and wanted more tickets for the Chik Fil A bowl. He was told by the front office they didn't have any more...supposedly they got more and he wasn't told about it and friends of the front office got the tickets...He found out afterward.

Second rumor was the wording of his contract.... He wanted a contract that was as long as Tuberville's and wanted it paid/honored even if Tuberville left or was axed. Verbally it had been agreed but it wasn't what showed up in writing. It pissed him off and within minutes of this he got a phone call from Mack Brown. Rather than talk to the AD about it... He took the flight to Texas.

He can be a little reactionary....
