What's up with Tubberville/Franklin...

For weeks now, Franklin has been calling press conferences where he says how lousy the offense is, and how he would boo it too, etc.
My question is, why is he even talking to the media? Who is getting paid the big bucks over there, Tubby or Franklin? Is Tubby in charge or isn't he? Let's see.. head coach makes 3M+, coordinator makes 200K+, seems simple to me.
Can you imagine a Nick Saban coordinator calling a press conference to apologize to fans? Or even Crowton or Peveto/Mallory, God I hope not. If there's any apologizing to do, it ought to be done by the one who's getting paid to run the program.
I used to respect Tubby's program, but it seems like TF is just thrown under the bus. Wasn't Tubby the one that hired the guy?
Something smells over there.

Was he or was his hand forced? Who knows?

It always seems like Tubberville is pretty rough on his coordinators. I know he was rough on the original coaching staff he had at Ole Miss when he brought them to Auburn. Borges and Muschamp got thrown under the bus also.

Muschamp was revered over here. Almost every Auburn fan I know loved that guy, and were VERY upset to lose him to Texas.

Didn't Tubberville make some snide press conference comments about the defensive coordinator after a loss or something like that last season?

I don't remember anything but high praise for Muschamp from Tuberville or the University. Talk was he would get a Jimbo Fisher deal and be the next head coach when Tuberville left. Hell, they offered him a contract that would have made him the highest paid assistant in the NCAA if I'm not mistaken.

I also remember hearing something about Tubberville somehow preventing Muschamp from interviewing in Arkansas for that job also.

Well, why did Muschamp make a lateral move if everything was so great?

Is Franklin really calling press conferences or merely answering media questions when asked?

To be honest, he won't be at Texas very long. He is going to be a head coach within two years, so that move was nothing short of just getting another big name school on his resume, IMO.

It's not a lateral move.

Its really not that much of a step up if you look at both of the programs when he left.

This Auburn fan just said they offered to make him the highest paid assistant, so your right going to Texas probably cost him money. Why would he go there, he has enough schools on his resume.

I heard one of the things that caused Muschamp to leave was serious character issues he had with Franklin...

Franklin is becoming Auburn's Shula.

But, Tuberville isn't afraid to let coordinators go, so if Franklin turns out to be a bad hire, he will be gone within a year or two.

you might be right.. but the question remains, why is he even answering questions. Shouldn't that be the job of the head guy? Isn't that why he gets paid the big bucks?
Good luck hiring the next guy after the way this one got treated.

There was something wacky going on...the night of the Peach Bowl after the win, Muschamp went on and on about how this game would attract recruits to Auburn and how he was excited about the future...next thing you know, he's on a plane to Texas.

I didn't mean that in a good way. Franklin is now the logical answer for every bad thing that has happened to AU. He is a whipping boy like Shula.

Alot of strange things have happened since the Peach Bowl at the QB position also.
