I read (on their message board) that they've already hired Gruden. It's been a done deal for weeks, even before Dooley was fired. Everything else is just a smokescreen and delay tactics until the MNF season is over.

When UT was dominant LSU, UGA, Bama, USCe weren't anything close to what they are today. Look at the rosters of UT in the 90's....tons of all-americans from La., Alabama, Georgia, So. Carolina. Most of those kids are staying home now.

This^^^... Mark Richt coming to UGA was the start of the UT decline. Their 90's teams were loaded with 4-5* Ga. talent. Since Richt has arrived it's been pretty much Eric Berry & Da'Rick for 4-5* gets...

The ugly bland crimson jerseys are the worst.

it's now harder for a football player to be admitted at Tennessee than it is for them to be admitted at Vanderbilt.

that's the problem.

That can not be. UTk admitted a UF academic rejection.

word has gotten out that our chancellor hates football. he kept 2-3 players from being admitted the last couple of years. highly ranked juco guys that could have had an impact.

believe it or not, it's true. players can no longer transfer in with anything below a C. in case you're wondering, a lot of football players get C- 's in college.

also, the chancellor has said numerous times in the last couple of years that just because you gets past NCAA clearing house, doesn't mean you will pass UT standards.

it's pissed off a lot of people. but the way the UTk system is set up, it's going to take an act of God to get it changed (ie, board of directors shite). plus, our board of trustees over the whole system has placed the AD under the chancellor. since then, he has removed the student athlete's academic success center from the AD's power. so now we have power-hungry, piss ant professors who hate sports overseeing the shite. sucks hard.

I would say it's because Knoxville sucks, but it's gotta be better than Stillwater.

If they got a badass coach in there, they could recruit again. Didn't they recruit pretty well when Kiffin was there for that hot minute?
