Real answer- poor QB play is tough to overcome with just a small amount of talent.

You made a statement that made no claims you said it before on the boards.

I made a comment on what you posted.

If they come out the gate slow this year I really think Gus will be in trouble. I really don't know what is going on over there to be honest. One would think this would have been happening to us after that cluster frick at seasons end.

Clemson says hey, Auburn says bye Gus!

ooof in a year where you're trying to reestablish your identity there could not be a worse team to face game 1 to start the season

Clemson should be preseason no. 1

combination of things, and as an Auburn fan Ill try to make this as truthful and succinct as I can.

1. We had our Defensive staff leave, mostly due to our DC getting a HC job, our DB coach upgrading to DC, and another coach following them. There were also false reports that Champ was leaving no matter what that stirred the pot. He was apparently going to stay if he didn't get the USCe job, but I think everyone knew that he would get it.

2. We upgraded our OL coach. Hand has been Gus's guy for years and we finally got him on our 3rd try. I liked Grimes, but Hand was the first choice.

3. We lost our WR to a rival supposedly because he wanted more input and didn't see eye to eye with our HC and OC. This is certainly a big loss and not ideal.

I don't know what else is going on there. We admittedly don't seem to have everything going great, but we do have coaches that are leaving other jobs to come and coach for us, so things probably aren't as bad as they seem today.

Gus is a smart guy, but I think he is very limited in who he seeks advice from and who has input on gameplans, and that doesn't always go well with some of the assistants on the offensive side. Oustide of that I don't think that much has changed other than we didn't have a QB this year. If 2015 AU has a QB, we probably win 9 or 10 games, which is about right for where we were talent-wise this year. (especially after the Lawson injury)

OK, I'll humor you. Who do you mean, aside from Dameyune Craig, who had nothing but good things to say yesterday?

He said good things about Auburn. Not once did he say good things about Malzahn. I have no doubt the guy loves Auburn, but he made a lateral move to an SEC West rival (who has a shaky coach situation) to get away from Gus. If that doesn't concern you then you haven't been watching Auburn football the last two seasons.

Nobody here has won the SEC as a head coach, so I'll disagree with this one. But recent events have cast some doubt on him.

Its the poor leadership on Gus' part. He's running that football team like a high school squad. There's also been no development to note under his tenure.

One of my close buddies is an AU grad. He's over my house for this years IB. I told him at halftime that AU can win if they keep feeding Jovon Robinson and make a player or two. But Gus takes the ball out of Robinson's hands. Gus' overthinking small stuff gets him in trouble on gameday, and his loyalty to Lashlee is going to get him fired.

One of the most baffling coaching decisions, and one that Gus did late in the season with regularity.

This should be an informative thread,

It should be, but when the first response is from a closet homosexual, fantasizing about gay animal sex it tends to make everything else go down hill.

I hate agreeing with this...but I agree with this. We haven't had an AD that is outside the family since Mike Lude 20+ years ago.
