I have been on this bandwagon from day one. It makes more sense geographically and keeps the biggest rivalry games intact. Yes, I too miss the Auburn-UF game every year and the Aub and UT had gotten big by the late 80's. Bama and UGA would become a big game in a few decades just due to geographic layout. As far as LSU running the the table every year there is now Ole Miss and Arky that give them fits. A&M has been an auto win but they have potential to breakout at some point. If we did this you could drop the perm rival games since everybody would play their rivals anyway and rotate faster.

Also, we may add a couple teams and one could be Oklahoma so Bama and AU in the west would start to make less sense.

Move them out into the Atlantic Ocean.

I think Alabama Auburn to the East is a natural fit. Question is which rivaly is given up UT-VU or UT-UK.

I would think the VU would be more willing to forge rivalries with MIZZ and OLE MISS.

Not to mention with 3 rotating games you would see UT-VU 3 out of 7 years.

Yea, Alabama/Georgia/Auburn/Tennessee/Florida all have either longstanding or recent histories with eachother, are close to eachother for the most part and all have giant alumni bases in Atlanta.

I'd be ecstatic to see those 4 on the schedule every year. Would be a lot of fun. Also would love to see Auburn play Tennessee/Florida every year again like they used to.

The only people that want this are the tittybabies down on the bayou. TSIO built this conference and will be preserved as long as humans in the southeast are playing football.

What is funny is that if you polled people in different parts of the state I bet you would get totally different answers.

People in Mobile are much more attached to the LSU games. People in Huntsville the Tennessee game. Everyone the Auburn game (obviously).

Those are exactly the games I miss.

I would think most Alabama fans would love playing Florida and Georgia annually.

I miss seeing us play Florida so much and would love to see us playing Tenn again.

I get that some people say the West might be too weak, but I disagree. Arkansas is building. Ole Miss is doing really well. LSU is strong and you have to think one of these days A&M will figure it out.

TSIO needs to go back to that look. Orange and Crimson clashing on a cool autumn afternoon is what SEC football is all about

I am confused. Moving Alabama to the East would preserve the TSIO and eliminate the need for perm cross rivals.

I would, especially Georgia.

A lot of people don't realize that Florida and Tennessee were serious rivals for Auburn until 1992 (and later for Florida, obviously).

I misread the OP. I thought he meant move Auburn to the east and leave Alabama in the west.

5 of the Big 6 in one division is just fricking stupid

I just like it how it is now. My bro goes to OM so I get the sibling Rivalry and playing LSU every year is fun, especially because Saban and how much they hate us.

Yea, it would be tough losing the LSU thing. Also, we have played Mississippi State more than anybody else in the league and they are all of 80 miles down the road, so it wouldn't make much sense being in a different division than them.

My grandfather hates Auburn almost as much as Alabama. The Aubbies were easily Tennessee's #2 rival pre-expansion. UT gave that game up to keep TSIO way back when

Another solution would be nine conference games.

But that hurts Fl, SC and GA.

I am just tired of feeling like most East teams are not even in the conference.

When will Alabama play GA at home? When will they get Fl at home again?

The current setup just takes way to long for teams to play each other.

That is funny because my grandfather hates Georgia Tech as much as Auburn or Tennessee because of the Dodd-Bryant thing.
