Under what circumstances would UF beat UG in 2012? What would it take?

No, he's just a little sensitive since I don't buy into the sunshine and rainbow party he has with his IRL UGA friends.

I don't either. I do have friends that are UGA fans, but we both know to stay far away from each other when it's Cocktail Party time.

South Carolina is going to pretty damn good next year, lets be real. I'm an LSU fan and they actually are a game I worry about, and we have them at home.

Florida and Auburn is going to be much better. Returning a lot of starters, 18 each.

This is beside the fact, Tennessee is returning 20, they'll be improved too.

The "psuedo-elitist" part refers to the attitude in saying:
quote:

I can already see it now, we'll cruise through to the SECCG with relative ease.

Followed up by:
quote:

I'm sure all year people will say "well you haven't played anyone".

Let me ask, if you're in the toughest conference in the world, and you believe "we'll cruise though", what does that say about your particular schedule? You believe that you'd "cruise" through that schedule if you were in the West?
How about if you played just one of Alabama or LSU in the regular season, would you still "cruise"?
I'm not trying to be a dick, but I'm just curious in asking.

It's a little different. We all have kids that play sports together, we see each other often, we vacation together, go out on the town together, nothing changes on game day. None of us are dicks though.

It would take a few things:

1)Your defense (which is good, and I actually think a bit underrated after looking at the stats ) controlling the game. Based on our CURRENT, in July, situation it appears that that would come from stopping our running game and making us throw it all over the place. However, we had success through the air last year so who knows. Crowell might have been a factor in that success.

2) Running successfully. Idk who the hell your RB will be our if you'll have much of a run game, and we are STOUT up the middle. If we shut that down, it's gonna be a long day. If you get success there it'll keep us honest. Which leads to..

3) Yall NEED to pass on us. Our secondary will be the weakest (although certainly not weak) link on defense. If yall are running on us, it'll open up some passing success for whoever your QB is.

With all that said, I don't think yall will do enough to win. It's obviously possible, but I simply think we're the better team. And honestly, is it THAT big of a stretch to suggest a team that will start out around 7 or 8 beating a team around 20th?

1) Hmm, I guess they were pretty good afterall.

or

2) Well their schedule was so bad, they really only had to play this one really hard game. Still not impressed.

'Bout damn time?

The SEC was way down this year?

Richt is 3-1 against bama and 3-4 against LSU.

1-1 against bama with their current coach and 2-2 against LSu with their current coach.

We return plenty as well, from the east winner. We return 10 of 11 starters on a top 5 national D.

It has to do with

quote:

UGA can't beat bama or lsu

We have clearly proven that we can. What exactly does your statement have to do with this year? I don't think there's a team in the country that we "can't" beat.

Pease is the big unknown for me and how he's able to get his offense installed. I'm hopeful based on his past performance against BCS teams I'm hopeful that by October this will be accomplished but it's certainly not a given.

Running backs will be Mike Gillislee, Mack Brown, Jr., Omarius Hines at times and Trey Burton. This is not ideal but MG is serviceable and Mack was highly recruited but it's time for him to get off the stick.

I'm not sure what a team that starts out at 7 or 8 vs a team that starts out at 20 has to do anything in October since that is likely to change in either direction for both teams. It's not where you start you know.

My hope is that Bobo goes full Bobo and that Murray is more concerned with all kinds of different sex acts throughout the year.

I'll say "Holy Dawg frick! How did UGA win the SEC with a loss to Auburn on their record"?

I'll then congratulate my daughter who plays in the band at UGA cause she will be going to a fun bowl!

I will say that LSU, Alabama, South Carolina all had catastrophic injuries.

But since Georgia is losing to Missouri in their opening SEC game, I don't think this will be an issue.

Sure y'all return some key players.
Y'all have made a reputation of beating up on teams in your division when they suck, but undoubtedly, they'll get better. That is the basis of the "psuedo-elite" comment though. Those teams have been down, and it seems like y'all won't recognize that, or the fact that they may get up and beat y'all.

That's another thing. I don't care what your credentials are, it is TOUGH to win in your first year in the SEC. Richt, Saban, Chizik, Meyer, etc. all did less than spectacular their first year. Muschamp clearly didn't do so hot. Now you have a first year OC in this league. Weis had about as stellar a resume as an OC could have and he flopped miserably.

The running backs you mentioned all have potential I'm sure, but what have they actually done? MG I remember hearing flashes of and I assume he'll be the go to guy. But again, without actually seeing concrete evidence that you'll have a solid run game why should we fear it, now in July?

quote:

My hope is that Bobo goes full Bobo

That same doofus dialed up 2 4th down touchdowns on you last year, and another 4th down pass late in the game to ice it.

Again, I'm not saying we CAN'T lose to florida, because that would be idiotic. I just don't think with everything we know right now that I would say that would happen.

The real story is Bama, LSU, and South Carolina all being taken out by the NCAA at the same time.
