The big thing I remember about the blackout game was the big gas shortage at the time. Athens/Clark Co police warned people not to travel from far away, yet a bunch of Bama fans did and got stranded.
Other thing I remember is losing to Ole Miss by 1 point earlier in the day.

Believe it or not, IDGAF, its all true. These are my friends, they wouldn't lie about something stupid like that. I git another story for you. Blackout game, my buddy was at the gate, about to go in, and the gate keeper ripped his ticket in half, and said "sorry, this is a fake ticket, you can't come in." Like I said, IDGAF if you believe me or not, its true.

There are about 50 bars in downtown Athens. I have a hard time believing your friends couldn't get access to them. Especially considering that I see other fanbases pouring into bars and restaurants every game weekend since I've been going to Athens.
