Pay the umps? Hell the REC is paying a fortune for the best officials money can buy.

The SEC should just buy Air Force One and use it as head quarters, constantly in undisclosed locations in the air somewhere above the southeast.

1.) Move SEC Office to Atlanta
2.) Announce an immediate rethinking of scheduling
3.) All violation-related allegations from any member institution must be cc'd to the NCAA as well as the NCAA, going away from the "Tell us at the League Office first, and theeeeen we'll tell Indy."
4.) Announce the abolition of permanent homes for the SEC Championship Game in Football and SEC Baseball Tournament.
5.) Pay SEC Officials in all varsity, scholarship-supported sports in order that they may become full time employees.
6.) Require SEC Officials in all varsity, scholarship-supported sports to face the same basic media obligations players & coaches are subject and accountable for.
7.) Require the SEC Office to publish rankings of officials in all scholarship-supported sports, as well as methodology for ranking.
This would be a fairly awesome start.
You don't need Sankey to to any of these things. All it would take is a vote of 3/4 of the members of the SEC.

Moving the championships around is fine. Especially the baseball and basketball. The only issue with football, is the first year it's not in Atlanta , they would secure the ACC and it would never move. Which some of you do not care about that, however it has been very successful in Atlanta. Considering the new stadium coming, why would the ADs want it to?

Moving the SEC Championship game out of Atlanta would be stupid, for the reason you stated. However, I can see egos out West making a push for their own personal agenda, notwithstanding the stupidity of it.
If the SEC ever waivers, the ACC will beat the doors down to get in Atlanta, and we will never get it back unless we agree to play second fiddle to the ACC. That should never happen.
Lastly, the Superdome is a dump and Jerry World is not located in the Southeast

You don't like a fallacy, then. It's not nearly as populated with Bama graduates as you think, particular at the top positions.
Couple of years old, but most of the key figures are the same.

As far as the cost, we just (exponentially) overshot our own revenue projections in Year 1 while pulling off the most successful cable channel launch in cable history. We paid out $31 million + to member institutions in the first year of that cable channel's launch. To say that we can't afford new league offices in Atlanta or in NYC for that matter is disingenuous.
Are we getting a deal if as you say (and I have no reason to doubt you) we get $1 rent on the offices in Birmingham (Who owns the facilities BTW?)? Of course. Does that mean the cost benefits of the current situation outweigh the benefits of moving? I'm not sure. But from a strictly financial perspective? To say we can't afford it is hilarious.
Never said it couldn't be afforded. I said moving to Atlanta isn't sound business sense unless you get a similar deal. Vast difference between what can be afforded (moving virtually anywhere can be afforded by the SEC office) and what is a prudent financial decision. Why pay more than you have to if the current facilities are more than adequate? It would ultimately come down to a cost/benefit analysis that I don't think moving would win.

I'm in favor of all member institutions operating without a Mulligan. We're just allowing a cushion for more brazen behavior and I'd rather not see it personally. We can agree to disagree though.
But if it is the system that ALL member institutions currently operate under, how is it unfair to any?

Hey! We found some common ground. That's good.

Are you seriously trying to prove a point with that link?

Bitch slap Saban, just to scare everyone and show who is in charge....
j/k...probably make a bunch of rule changes that align with whatever Saban wants and help confirm that the office will continue to be in Bama's pocket.

How would you work these then?
I cannot see rotating the SECCG between school stadiums working so well. Not just the difference in sizes, but you're a lot more likely to get a school playing a home game than, say, the Super Bowl does.

Correct reason to keep it in ATL

Well, do the research for yourself. You'll find that the info in that link is factually correct. Someone did the research and listed the alma maters for each of those individuals within the conference office. The FACTS show that this believe that several high ups in the conference are "bammers" is simply not true. There are only 3 that are in high profile, decision making roles.

agree. he should do this by moving the SEC offices to Atlanta. and fire any ref.s that graduated from an SEC school. at least not let them call games where there alma mater is involved.

A grad of UG cannot ref a game in which UG plays. That rule exists already. SEC refs still suck.

What? No, I think it would be a great way to totally saturate the Alabama football market. The headquarters are already in Birmingham, as is the SEC Baseball tournament. It's a natural fit. UAB has a lot of serious momentum as a program. Besides, we have plenty of revenue to go around, and we could really make a point of being philanthropic. I don't see any negatives.

Announce that the SEC office will be moved out of Birmingham and will be hosted in whichever city hosts the Iron Bowl that year.

Don't tell anybody but plan is to move the SEC headquarters to Baton Rouge!
