A top 3 SEC team 20-9, 19-10, or a far fetched 21-8 in SEC play is t going on the road in regional play. 20 wins usually wins this league.

As I've stated many times in this thread, State still has a chance to win a series over a top 4 team, but so far has not proven to be a top team in the league.

How many teams have won a series vs Vandy or LSU?

One.

We have our chance hosting South Carolina at home last weekend of the regular season at Dudy Noble. Where we are 8-4 in SEC games and 3-1 in sec series. We will win 2 of 3 from them.

Arkansas hurt themselves with terrible OOC losses and weak scheduling.

State beat the teams we were supposed to.

As much as you want OOC to matter more, winning 19 or 20 games in arguably the toughest league in the country carries more weight. As well, Arkansas is 10-2 on the road in league play and could be 12-3 or 13-2 on the road in league play at seasons end.

Nobody is saying State sucks, but at this point they have not proven what the top 4 teams in the league have this far.

I think there's a decent chance of 5 hosts - but if it's only 4, I give the nod to Arky over State right now.

That's a bold prediction considering a tie usually goes to the team with the fatter first baseman.

How it read

Four SEC hosts... LSU, Vandy , MSU and Carolina

State could lose their host spot to Arky but only if they lose to us this weekend (Not gonna happen), lose to USCe and go 1 and Q in Hoover.

3-1 in sec series

Relevant until you remember you are fighting about series wins over top teams and the only relevant series in that number is in the one column--not the three. Should be interesting coming down the stretch. Five hosts would be awesome, but unlikely imo.

You want to mention a sweep by Vandy yet your team doesn't even play them. Nice. You keep trying to use "top 4" to make your point yet your team doesn't play the top 4 teams in the sec.

I figured on you guys taking 2/3 from state and sweeping Uga

We'll have to win both series - I'm not sure we're the kind of team that can sweep anyone right now.

I do believe we'll win both of those series though. We're very young and our backs are to the wall but we're loaded with talent and we're due to catch fire here anytime now.

Mississippi State won't lost a home series to South Carolina.

UGA isn't very good. Sweep is a possibility.

And we agree on Cocky taking 2/3 from State.

LSU is a better team than State and lost a home series to USCe. I think that series is a toss up; I don't see a sweep either way.

Nor do I, but I feel home field and the chance to host a regional helps motivate our team to a series win over USCe

I could definitely see y'all winning the series. USCe has been really inconsistent this year; it'll be interesting to see which USCe team shows up that weekend (the good or the bad).

We very well could. Stop acting like we're a juggernaut. LSU lost 2/3 to them at home.

I thought only Arkansas fans believed in the power of a home baseball crowd. Turns out that Arkansas is actually better on the road, the mirror image of their basketball team.

I still don't think there are any impact baseball venues.

You don't think the team that's won 2/3 national championships won't be motivated to make sure they host a regional?

In Kendall Rogers chat today, he thinks the SEC gets 5 hosts. He doesn't think the Big12 will get one.

The best shot for them is OU IMO. The worst thing for OU is for Arkansas to stay on the winning track. At worst, I think Arkansas finishes 4-2.

Oklahoma and Arkansas had a mid week game scheduled but it was cancelled due to weather. I was told today DVH wanted to schedule a make up date before the season ended but OU denied. Saying that, I hope OU loses out.
