What Championship pieces does LSU have outside Guice?

we'll see. I like UGA to be much improved and likely win the East. I think Florida is pretty close to them depending on QB play.
I think AU has a markedly better QB than LSU does and I think that makes the difference in their head to head matchup, which is why I had AU higher than LSU in the west.
The LSU D is great, no doubt. However, their o-line needs to prove themselves this year, their QB has a slow release and not the strongest arm (not the best combo behind a so-so O-line...and don't tell me the excuses about his back). I like Guice, but other than the that O has a lot to prove too. Combine all that with the unknown Canada in the SEC and Ed O still having a lot to prove, and that's why I put LSU at 3rd in the West.

No, DJ Chark is returning. It's ok, Les Miles forgot about him too.

Vegas has oddsmakers... so why ask a message board when there are professionals that do this? When asked this question i'm gonna say MsState every time.

This is wrong. DJ Chark is a capable threat. Donnie Alexander and Devin White (looks like a future SEC 1st-teamer) played considerable snaps last year, especially when Beckwith went down. Corey Thompson returns from injury as a 6th year senior. Arden Key is a returning LB who is expected back as early as the middle of fall camp. As for RB, Darrell Williams proved himself to be an extremely capable backup for the last two seasons and he returns for his senior year.
Do some research before you type.

Because this is the true intent of a message board. Message boards weren't invented for trolling, despite popular belief.

Wondering how LSU is legit and Georgia, even Florida, are not
I think we're holding onto the LSU of yesteryear, but lately they lose 3-4 games a season. We know what they have at Quarterback. I think it's more likely that Jacob Eason progresses enough to lead his equally talented team to the playoffs, rather than Etling progressing enough to lead his team there

Everybody in the league has an extremely capabale backup. Players like Williams are a dime a dozen

Fair post. The only other thing i would add, 1st year OC's sometimes are hard to scheme against. That may help the LSU off.
But the answer is Georgia.

Auburn is hit or miss based on Stidham. That's a lot of potential being weighed on a single player, so I'm not sold there. Still, best chance out of the lot.
LSU needs some depth on offense, but the defense will keep them in pretty much every game.
UGA should, IMHO, win the East.
Florida is harder to say. How's the QB play during camp so far?

UGA does not have any more a chance than A&M for crying out loud.

Only thing holding our offense back is Cheney and a big question mark at o-line, Eason will do fine. Hopefully Jim doesn't call head scratcher plays and stays in the booth this year. As long as our O-line is decent and Eason progresses we should have a 9-10 win season and win the east.

Never count out Tennessee as long as Butch is there.

Georgia is a year away imo. Florida may have a 10 win squad and Tennessee doesn't get a mention until they get rid of Bitch. The only correct answer is Auburn and LSU. Whichever team gets better quarterback play will finish second in the west.

I cannot wait to revisit this post. DJ Chark will be one of the best receivers in the SEC. LSU always has monsters at receiver and this year is no different.

Georgia is missing a few pieces on defense
Not sure if serious. The only one who is gone is Mo Smith. Everyone else is back from a unit that finished 15th in the nation in total D. The Oline is a wait and see with new bodies at every position. But there is talent on the 2 deep. With that said.............
A health Tenn team scares me. Those 4 and 5 stars on the Oline and Dline are some heavy hitters.

So you believe Georgia will be better in 2018 without Chubb, Michel, Lorenzo Carter, D Sanders (2015 first team AllSEC) Roquan Smith(jr), Patrick(jr), Ledbetter(jr). Those are the more recognized names on the team with other starters playing their last year. Its 2017 or bust.

The only other team that I think if the stars align and all their question marks work out is Auburn.
- LSU can't win with their QB
- Georgia can't win with that OL
Those teams could have very good seasons, but they can't beat 2 straight Top 4 teams with those problems.
If everything fell Auburn's way - defense was good again, Stidham was the real deal, offensive line improvement was good and tackle worked out, etc.......they could have a shot.

quote:We are judging Etling off of what we saw last year, very unimpressive. But what if Canada can raise the level of Etling's play? I honestly think that Etling will be at least marginally better than last season. Maybe the kid just isn't a pro-style QB. Maybe a spread will highlight the things that are good. It won't help his arm strength, but we may see improved accuracy.

a single player? like Auburn doesn't return 18 starters?
