What SEC team, outside of Alabama, has the best chance of winning the title?

To me it really comes down to two legit teams and two surprise teams.

Legit: Auburn, LSU
Surprise: Florida, Georgia

Auburn has everything it needs, may need to shore it that defense a tad bit more, but they are more than solid all around. If Stidham lives up to the hype they will make you pay.

LSU has everything a title team requires except for the big question mark at QB. If you put an elite QB on this team and they will make some serious noise. I know we said that in 2013, but that was a different coach and different OC. The potential is there, and who's to say that Canada is a QB whisperer and unlock Etling's true potential?

Georgia is missing a few pieces on defense and their o-line isn't the best either, but if they get lucky enough they may be able to make some noise. Good returning starters on offense and a few veterans on defense in some key spots, but the team as a whole still lacks something.

Florida. If Florida could get consistent qb play they will make a huge push. Kind of hard to beat teams when your qb keeps shooting the team in the foot with bad turnovers and not being able to move the chains. Maybe the transfer of Franks will make somethings happen.

The SEC as a whole needs these four teams to live up to their full potentials.

Best chance in order in my opinion:

Auburn
Georgia
Florida

LSU

LSU also lacks a threat at WR, they have no returning LBs and Arden Key is recovering from injury. They don't have a legit backup RB either to take the load off Guice.

You are seriously underrating LSU. Their defense is always superior and they are physical. They need to open up the field and that is what Canada will do. If they get good QB play they will be a really tough team to beat.

Georgia should be pretty stacked this year.

UGA should win the East this year. As far as AU and LSU, I'm not sold on either challenging Bama this year.

I think Auburn as well for first slot after Bama. Their core has remained intact and have a baller at QB now. Should be fun to watch them.

LSU (IMO) will experience some growing pains. Loss of several defenders to the pros, new OC, but our defense typically keeps us in games anyway so that will be a constant...thankfully.

State has the odd year schedule, where they get Bama, LSU and Ole Miss all in Starkville. This is Fitz's junior year - Dak's junior year was the ascend to #1, but the road games at the end of the season were too much.

If State were ever going to step up, its going to be an odd numbered year with an experienced offense. They have that this year.

That's it. Nobody else has... well... any chance at all.

They don't have the talent that they have had in the past, but this is the SEC, someone will emerge as a play maker.

I like LSU to make some noise, they have championship level pieces in position other than Qb, Still don't know about O or if Canada offense translate well to Sec play. Auburn also goes to LSU, and seem to have trouble with Georgia as of late. If Etling is serviceable they win 10 games.
