Louisiana - NOLA (Uptown or North Shore)

I grew up on the Northshore 45 min from NO and BR. Great place to grow up no doubt.

Yeah Gulfport is fricking awful. I personally hate the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Oxford and Tupelo are pretty good places to live, tons to do.

Yeah it definitely sucks and the coast is overrated for sure. I prefer the Northshore in LA. Though I have to admit I've never been to Oxford so I can't say all of MS sucks, just the Gulf Coast pretty much.

Louisiana: New Orleans
Georgia: Atlanta or Savannah
Tennessee: Nashville or possibly Chattanooga
South Carolina: Charleston or possibly Greenville or Columbia
Florida: Tampa possibly Jacksonville. Miami might be okay for a while, but don't think I'd want to stay there.
Texas: Austin or San Antonio

I'd like to see us add North Carolina...

I've lived in Tennessee and Georgia, but I could see myself living in Charleston, SC.

Wouldn't say that. Used to live in Ocean Springs, MS and loved.

As long as you're in one of the isolated pockets of money in the area, it's awesome. My folks used to have a three story plantation style house down there, 50 feet from the beach. Till Katrina...

Compared to other states' coastal cities (Orange Beach, Destin) it does suck

It's not the one that backs onto the Jourdan River is it?

Yeah I tried all through college to get my buddies to take a road trip there for a game but we never got to do it. I always wanted to see what the Grove is all about.

Nope. It was on Fort Bayou just off Biloxi Bay.

Sometimes you don't know what you got, till it's gone.

Columbia, SC was a pretty great place to live, a drinking town with a football problem. Around the area, there was a lot of opportunity and access to golf, fish, hunt, boating and in general outdoor activities. If you wanted to go to the beach, you were about 2 hours from several options. If you wanted to go to the mountains, you were about 2 hours from several options. Not far from Charleston, not far from Charlotte and about 3 hours from ATL. Cost of living was really cheap, housing costs per sq ft were low, there was a lot of good food everywhere and the general culture was inviting and relaxed.

If I had to choose another state to live in, it would probably be FL, but I'd get picky on the area...Miami is fun to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.

Texas blows outside of Austin. Full of fundamentalists and rednecks. I'd love to live in Nashville.

I could live in Houston, but that's mainly because I have so many friends there.

Texas cities are kinda bland and without character, by and large. There's some pretty landscape, but meh.

This. I have no idea why Texas people have so much state pride. It sucks arse considering how over-hyped it is.

Alabama, but only if all the gumps leave. All of them except for Harvey Updyke...you know, in case I need a gardener.

I am from Louisiana so after Texas that's where I'd live. Florida is always nice to visit so maybe that third.

Austin, TX as long as I'm guaranteed -- in writing -- that I never have to interact with non-Austonian Texans.

After that, probably Nashville or Knoxville. Parts of GA and SC are high on the list. Very specific parts of FL.

The Memphis area, whether it be TN or MS. Would prefer Shelby County though(not city of Memphis)
