I've been once. If I were told that I had a day to live I'd spend my day there

Two types of people in this thread: people who say "Texas" and people who've never been to Texas.

I grew up thinking Texas was just one big dust bowl. I was shocked the first time I flew into Texas and saw greenery. Little did I know only half the state is a dust bowl. The other half is pretty beautiful.

I live in MS now and it fricking sucks. The only thing it has going for it are the Casinos. Some people try to claim the fishing but LA fishing >>>>>>>>>> MS fishing.

I live in Gulfport and it blows. I have to say I do enjoy Windance CC though. Legit golf course for sure.

ETA: My mom has lived in Diamondhead the last 5 years and it sucks too.

I don't currently live in an SEC state, but I think the only ones I'd move to would be in order of preference: Tennessee, South Carolina, Texas.

I could pick a section of every state that I would enjoy, but my tops:
South Carolina - Charleston... Love that town!
Georgia - Savannah, Sea Island
Florida - P'cola, JAX, or certain parts of Miami-Dade
Louisiana - NOLA (Uptown or North Shore)
Tennessee - Nashville... South Nashville.
Texas - parts of Dallas, Houston, and maybe Austin and San Antonio.
Arkansas - I got nothing...
Missouri....

Forgot Mississippi. I could probably live anywhere on the coast sine I would be close to home. Also Hattiesburg seems cool, relatively speaking.

Yeah Gulfport is fricking awful. I personally hate the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Oxford and Tupelo are pretty good places to live, tons to do.

I love South Carolina - can't imagine living anywhere else.

But, if I did it would be between probably three or four places.

Eastern Tennessee up around Jonesborough in the Johnson City area.

Northern Alabama up around Huntsville or there abouts, in those hills.

Northern Georgia, up around Rabun or Habersham.

Louisiana, along the river road, in one of those big old plantation homes. LINK

Seriously though, I would like to live in Tennessee. Maybe Gatlinburg.

Missouri is too far down on that list. St. Louis is a pretty fun place.

Your confederate is showing. Missouri's a great state. And it's MO, Mizzou is a school and Missouri is a state.

Mississippi actually has a lot of interesting and scenic locations: Vicksburg, Natchez, Oxford, Sardis Lake, Jackson, the Gulf coast, the casinos etc.... And the fishing is great, especially some of those northern Mississippi farm lakes.
