It is. It dates back to a long tradition of fine families and high-culture. Much of the wealth in early America resided in north Mississippi.
As I understand it, much of the farm help and such stayed with these families for years. There is something to be said for that kind of loyalty.
In modern times, you have people like David Banner who help add to the culture. Count me in as a fan.

You can keep your UnderAmour hoodies. Bow-ties are for real men.
In African American culture, exclusive wearing of bow-ties is considered a sign of homosexuality. I wonder wear they picked up that idea.

Sir, have you been to The Grove? It is full powerful, affluent, and wealthy southern gentleman. College Station has nothing to compare to the people or the experience.

By "southern gentlemen" he means racist white men. OM by far leads in that category.

I had grown men and cops flick me off after the Bama/Ole Miss game in 2014, so I beg to differ.

have been to a lot of them, they really have lost the "southern gentleman" vibe from earlier years.
This is a stupid thread. How do you define gentleman? I can assure you that there are fewer than even you think there are.

There are gentlemen everywhere, but there certainly aren't many of them in college anywhere. Sure there are a lot of Old Row frat boys playing pretend gentleman in the SEC, but the most important aspect of manhood is taking care of your responsibilities, and these "gentlemen" care more about drinking shitty beer than getting an education.

At least it is real, unlike the "money" at Ole Miss.
