I cheer for Bama when they play OOC just like I do for every other SEC team. I don't watch much football but I usually always check in on the other SEC teams when they play basketball, and probably often know more about their teams than the fans of the school do. I'll probably watch all 5 of the SEC teams in the 1st round if they are on TV.

I know many Duke basketball fans that are Bama/Auburn football fans. It annoys me for some reason.

You might confuse being a "fan" and respecting each other's accomplishments in certain sports while having a passionate fan base?

Is this what is known as a slow night? The "slow" posters sure are starting threads.

Yea - I know a few of the "Duke" fans who went to Alabama. I don't know a single person who cheers for Kentucky basketball and Alabama football that isn't from the state of Kentucky (and I know maybe 2 of those, and they also cheer for Kentucky in football outside of playing Alabama).

There's some loser stationed here at Moody that has an Alabama football/Kentucky basketball half and half license plate... I would respect him much more if it was opposite.

I root for all SEC teams when UK isn't playing them. It's a money thing. We're in this conference to help dominate other conferences. We could sure use some help in basketball.

Probably at least the ones old enough to remember when the Bear called Lexington, KY home. Course if they are not dead yet they are at least in the AARP by now.

too many. Just like too many of them pretended to be Gators fans when we won two in a row. I'm glad they are back to pretending to be Kentucky and Alabama fans.

Good question. Has anyone ever seen an Alabama football fan and Kentucky basketball fan in the same room?

I was once in the same room at someone's home with Coach Bryant and Adolph Rupp. Does that qualify?.

Good point. In this part of the country, college sports are king and the pros are 2nd. Up north I think you find a lot of folks (non-college grads especially) that didn't get involved with the colleges because there was such a large pro fan base where they grew up.
