It was Coach Rupp's last year in coaching and most everywhere that Kentucky played a road game, the opposing team would make a big deal out of it. Coach Rupp came to our Tipoff Club's breakfast and gave one of the most interesting and riveting talks I've ever heard. That night my best friend's father had a small get together at his home for Coach Rupp. My friend's daddy was a close friend of Coach Bryant and I'm sure Coach Bryant asked him to host it. My friend and I were much younger than most of the folks there so we were like "flies on the wall"..we kept our mouths shut. As the night went on, the whiskey flowed and the stories did, too! You're talking about 2 men who were giants in their professions and had the stories to match. The one thing that I ascertained was that there was a deep respect between the 2 men, but not a lot of "love". I guess there's not enough room for 2 alpha males in the same pride.

I know many Duke basketball fans that are Bama/Auburn football fans. It annoys me for some reason.

Its crazy how often I see this.

It's been so long since quality basketball has been played in Tuscaloosa no one recognizes it anymore.

Alabama expanded their stadium during one of the worst periods in program history, yet we have a fanbase with nothing but bandwagon fans.

Makes sense to me.

I know of 1. A guy in my fraternity was from Lexington and was a die hard UK bball fan and became a UA football fan while in school.

I don't think I have any friends who are bandwagon and change teams they cheer for depending on success.
