How could it not be with all the talent? I'm just saying, Addazio put a damper on their offense. If they had tried the same style of play as they did in 08, I bet they would have been a much better team.

It could have been due as much to the loss of Harvin.

ETA: How was I the only person that voted for the OP in the "worst SECR poster thread"?

I'm sure it didn't help matters but their change in play calling is really what hurt them in my eyes.

Anyone that says the offense sucked in 2009 is a complete idiot.

UF was top 10 nationally in Total offense and Scoring offense.

They struggled in the red zone last year. So did Alabama. It doesn't mean the offenses sucked.

Well, since UF ranked better than Auburn in BOTH total offense and scoring offense, I guess if UF scuked arse, then Auburn coaches should just kill themselves.

Total offense 2008: 445.07
Total offense 2009: 457.86

More yards. Less points.

Because of poor red zone play.

The offense was fine, just had some bad luck in the RZ.

You can not tell me you'd prefer the '09 offense to the '08 offense. Stats aren't really representative of the point. For all we know, that could just mean the defense's of the SEC were stacked in '08 compared to '09.

My goodness people, get your panties out of a wad. I was comparing in relation to spread offenses working in the SEC.

People love to say Malzahn's offense will never work in the SEC. I simply used Meyer situation as a example of people saying a spread will never work in the SEC. Jesus.

And for the ones saying u cant compare Malzahn's offense to Meyers. We were every bit as good offensively as UF was last year.

See:

Scoring 2008: 43.6
Scoring 2009: 35.8

Because of:

2008 offense RZ % = .91 = #8
2009 offense RZ % = .77 = #93

Do u even think before you post. UF averaged 35 ppg last year, we averaged 33 ppg

I think they averaged 457 yds/game, we averaged 435 yds/game.

IMO, that's just as good considering their talent level on offense compared to what we had.

Also, and this can't be understated...

Losing Percy Harvin is a big fricking deal.

He scored 17 TDs in 12 games in 2009. That's 102 points.

UF scored 611 points in 2008.
UF scored 502 points in 2009.

That's 109 points less.

Seeing a kind of pattern emerge? That's hard to replace in just 1 year, especially when the heir to his throne (debose) was lost for the year before the season even started.
