Y'all don't even realize that y'all are suffering from the same affliction as the entire state of Texas, thinking you're the greatest-itis.
Scruffy weeps for you.

It has a carnival atmosphere with Mardi Gras, the French Quarter, etc. Like Vegas in a way it is a place where people go have fun and come out of their shells. So it just provides people with an opportunity to act uncharacteristic which isn't the case with tamer venues.
But it is all about self restraint--been there many a time and always resisted the urge to go crazy.

Proof that Scruffy has rarely ventured outside the piss soaked streets of the quarter, where drunken idiots from out of state use for their own toilet, thus being more of a statement about them than the city itself.

Meh. Scruffy has lived in this state his entire life. He has seen New Orleans in its entirety...
And he is not impressed.

Weep on Scruffy, but there's a reason Food and Wine readers consider it the top destination in the country for food. That's because it is, and it's a very unique and interesting city when compared to the giant corporate mall that surrounds it everywhere else as far as you want to look save a few bright spots like Austin and parts of Atlanta. You're about 20 years behind the curve that NOLA never deviated from, and yet many places in this country are finally coming to their senses in. Let me know when you stumble upon it in the future.

People are accustomed to this type of behavior when Bama fans are in their natural habitat. It's when they travel outside their traitor parks and into other states, their crazy behavior stands out

Yeah but unlike New Orleans, Texas is the greatest thing ever.
(Just joking, BTW. I am a NOLA boy for life.)

Hey! Stop making fun of Texas!!!
I mean frick your soul if you can live in a city with as many Apple Stores as the entire state of Louisiana, 300mbs Internet and a Frys. Louisiana is like a technology wasteland.

Ever fly into N. O. ? Everyone visiting are drinking, they think getting ready for the French Quarter is a must. They can do things in N. O. They cannot do where they live.

Brings out the crazy in everyone. It is America's toilet. Hell the shape is a toilet with Pontchartrain the bowl. I think it's stopped up. Just take a deep breath.

Well, then Scruffy is someone that I won't listen to about places to visit.
Apparently, Scruffy only likes things the way that he is used to and cannot handle anything different.
Why should I listen to Scruffy? Scruffy is ignorant and provincial when it comes to these types of things.
Scruffy should also probably recognize that his very small view of the world is not one shared by most and should probably have a bit more humility with his opinions.
New Orleans is amazing - and no, I am not talking about the French Quarter.

New Orleans getting pretty defensive.

Just wanted to add that I wasnt serious about the Louisiana toilet joke, before jimmies be rustled. I love New Orleans, myself, but some people who are a little more conservative back home should realize that a fishbowl does not constitute "one drink"

Yep. You nailed it.
I always know who to stay away from when I am down there when I see grown people with beads and masks on in July or December. That is Mardi Gras stuff and is only for January-Feb, but the tourists don't care. When they get there, every day has to be Mardi Gras for them.
The people who live in the City and what makes it great has little to do with the behavior of tourists who flock to the French Quarter. I appreciate the money they spend, but their behavior is their own.
I never go to Bourbon Street, by the way. That place is a cesspool. But, I love New Orleans.
