They would not be automatic conference champs every year.

We're currently 128-64 v the ACC all-time. 23 of the losses are to UNC scattered over out long standing rivalry, 15 to Georgia Tech before the quitters quit, and 9 to Duke.

We're not particularly worried.

We've tried. I'm all for it. Cal wants us to do neutral site games like we used to in Indianapolis and Louisville. Their hick arse fans got so nasty in 2012 when they nailed that buzzer beater, Cal swore he'd never play in Bloomington again. (And this is a guy who had to deal with Starkville and their fans throwing water bottles at us and calling Demarcus Cousins n!gger the whole game in 2010.) They want home and home of course (which I'm fine with also in spite of their jackass fans.) The compromise they came up with was for us to agree to play them in Bloomington and then have our home game at Freedom Hall. frick off Hoosiers! They need us a boat load more than we need them. They're has beens; we're always beens.

I'll be honest, if you had asked me I would have had to stop and think for at least five minutes. I'd really forgotten about that game. Still butthurt over the Wisconsin game.

I'd feel about like Atlanta did when the Thrashers left....

Yeah, the $527MM we collectively generated last year was a horrible group effort.

In all honesty, Louisville would be a better fit in the SEC than Kentucky.

BASKETBALL

*While Kentucky is certainly the better basketball program, Louisville is also a Top 10 program all-time. They have 3 National Titles... 10 final four appearances. They are solid.

FOOTBALL
*Louisville's program is a bit younger than Kentucky's. They started it 20 years later, and they never had any real success until the last few decades. Kentucky had some good years in the '50s with Bear Bryant as their coach. They won the SEC in 1976. But since the 1980s, Louisville has been by far the better program.

If you look at semi-recent success, I think most anyone would agree Louisville's trajectory as a program looks more promising than Kentucky's. They only began playing annually in 1994, but since then Louisville is 14-8 in head-to-head games against the Wildcats... including a winning streak of 5 straight.

OTHER SPORTS
*Their baseball team has made it to Omaha 3 times... and they've made it to the NCAA Tournament the last 5 seasons.

*They are pretty much a regular to the Women's NCAA Basketball Tournament... including two National Title Game appearances since 2009.

If you take their success in these four sports (arguably the Top 4 sports for the NCAA) over the past 6 or 7 years, I would think only a handful of programs in the entire country would be able to point to as much success.

Could we ever do a trade with the ACC? They can take Kentucky and we could take Louisville? Louisville seems to put a little more emphasis on football than Kentucky, and that jives with the SEC a bit better, IMO.

Plus, Charter member biatch. Plus, more than half your fan base is a UK basketball fan, so that whole conference pride thing would be weird for ya'll if we were in the ACC.

Then Bama might actually have to play someone decent from the East.
