Bro, Mizzou has like 500 fans. They don't bring in much money.
Their football attendance this year was their lowest since 2002. Their stadium only holds 70k and they haven't even managed to sell that out since 2014.
And their basketball attendance, well...
All that money, amirite? That's totally more money than the state of Alabama which bring a combined nearly 200,000 for home games. Add in Mizzou like you said it's what, 350,000 tickets. But Mizzou and the 50,000 game they bring to home games are totally worth more money
I always suspected you were the more simple minded posters on this board and this post confirms it.
Hint: The SEC makes its money on # of cable subscribers x $1.40 in it's footprint, if sorting out the rest is too difficult let me know.

Ole Miss is a charter member and would never be voted out of the SEC. If they did, Miss State would not last much longer b/c there would be no point in keeping them. They don't have any other rivalry. Some posters on here might, but the majority of LSU fans wouldn't want the Ole Miss rivalry to end.
OM doesn't have another rivalry that matters like MSU, though. The LSU/OM rivalry is a reminiscent tag along from the 1960s/70s. It's a nice rival, and some of the old timers find genuine passion there, but it smells bad when OM fans give the impression that it's the most important game for their school. It is not. People familiar with OM folks know this is a contrivance to look and feel relevant, needing to be tied-in somehow with a football power program.
If OM or MSU evaporated into thin air, the other would grow exponentially, not get withdrawn from the league.

Once the big TV money bubble bursts (within the next ten years), we might as well just add Tulane.
