Why is everyone so MAD at Missouri? Is it because in it's second year in the conference they made it to the SECCG? That is a feat that 4 other schools have never done.
Now Ole Miss and MSU fans cannot cry " The East is down and they suck" The West was down and out in the 90's and you two never got to the SECCG.
Is it because we might take away from the traditional powerhouses in the SEC? UGA,UF,and UT??
We are just taking advantage of their situation.
Is it because we were brought in to help with TV contracts and basketball and have not done anything in basketball?
Or is it because we are exactly like one Arkansas fan said. "They are like Zombies. You shoot them and kill them and the Zombie hoard keeps coming.Going straight for the East title. (per Killz)"

Those schools happen to suck at football right now, but there is zero threat of Mizzou "taking away" from them.

Was this really the case? I can't imagine Mizzou helping anything regarding basketball.

Probably this. Have they really added to value in TV contracts? Sure, lots of eyeballs in MO but aren't most of those pro eyeballs?

This whole "mizzou as football school" thing has always seemed like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Just say it out loud: "University of Missouri". Even sounds like a basketball school. Try as they might, I've never been convinced that Mizzou fans really care about football in the way most SEC fans do. I think deep down, most Mizzou fans like basketball better. But one thing (besides the lack of actual on-court success) has always kept Mizzou from truly being a "basketball school: The Kansas Jayhawks. It's the one thing the Jayhawks could hold over the heads of the Tigers, and thus Mizzou fans have attempted to distance themselves as a coping mechanism.

I like the way Mizzou plays football. They fit in perfectly well with the SEC. The fact that they are having immediate success is what is driving the SEC rednecks crazy.

Missouri TOOK a SECCG visit away from them last year and may do it again this year.

Why the Missouri hate...? No NC in either football or basketball, but have put on the floor some pretty competitive teams.
MU in the Big 8 and 12 never had the ability to compete due to funding. (Only shcool that by law the Athletic Dept cannot use tax dollars) Now we have an equal footing and so far have competed well.

I kinda like their fans. Met some pretty cool ones in 2012 when they came to Knoxville.

I have not met any fans from any SEC team so far that have been jerks.. Classy so far.
By far the worst fans are K-State fans! At least other fans that act like a horses A$$ have won something....

No one in our fan base that posts here gives a frick what you or your fellow necks think about our "fit" in the SEC.
Honestly, I think you guys are worried to death that a team from the Big 12 came in here and did a little damage so quickly. Yeah, yeah, the east was down last year.
If Mississippi State wins the west this season, is the west down?
