They'll be paying Sumlin $5M/year to lose 6 games a year instead of 4.

Hey dumbass, you said that, according to Aggies, A&M would be "much better" without JFF and Evans. When I asked you for a link, you referenced a post that came after your comment, and one that doesn't even support your comment. Even the most optimistic Aggie posters (like the guy you quoted, who thinks we'll get 8-10 wins next year) are not saying what you said they are saying.

You'd be crazy to say that there won't be a drop off, but I think that they have the number 1 QB in the 2014 class committed.

Well, to be fair, A&M couldn't finish in the top half of the division with the greatest player in A&M history this year. Bottom half of the West for next year wouldn't be SN outlandish prediction for A&M

Well, to be fair, Jesus fricking Christ couldn't finish in the top half of the division with the defense A&M fielded, so....

Some drop off is not a problem if we can stop opponents like Rice and Sam Houston State from scoring 35 points.

The defense got better as the year went on, but by that time JFF was beaten to death trying to carry the entire team and we lost Malcolm Kennedy.

Though I doubt the results are the same, I could probably find a ton of posts that said, "A&M is going to have a HUGE dropoff at QB. No way can you have a Freshman QB replace a Sr that was a Top 10 NFL Draft pick and not spell big trouble."

In reality you don't replace a guy like JFF with the same level talent, he is just too special. Still, the overall talent at A&M is going to be significantly better in '14 and '15 (especially on defense). The question is will it be like Tennessee after Peyton left or will it be like Auburn after Cam left? No one really knows the answer.

The odds are likely somewhere in between of course. Sumlin is still a very good coach and odds are that some of the truckload of 4 and 5 stars he is bringing in emerge as stars.

This isn't the first time this topic has been posted...

The general consensus among aggy last time was that aTm is stacked at qb, so JFF leaving is a non issue. They also have the best recruits coming in on both sides of the ball and will be better on defense next year as well. If you don't think aTm will be better next year than this year, you are in the minority.

They're looking at a 6-6 type year without Manziel and Evans.

We relegate back to an all-male military school.

I hear we're already expelling the women.

We fricked.
