That was a pic of him when his Dad coached the jaguars.

His dad now coaches the raiders

He looked pretty good against a SEC defense this spring.

You know you're grasping at straws when the spring game gets mentioned. Nathan fricking Peterman looked like a beast a couple years ago at Tennessee's spring game.

He will pass for more yards than Harris and Dobbs.

That's a pretty wild thing to say about a guy with 18 career pass attempts under his belt. Del Rio won't come close to matching Dobbs total yards or touchdowns

What you just said =\= what he said.

One way to measure such things is ask does he play QB for LSU. If not, the chances are better that he is SEC quality.

He walked on at Alabama, true...but he impressed everyone, coaches and players, maybe was #3 but he wanted more. Don't know what happened at Oregon State but two years later he isn't likely to have turned into chopped liver. Oh...he was very mobile at Alabama. He will give Florida a different look. Comparison? Think Doug Flutie.

The reason Peterman looked good in spring practice is because he was playing against the Tennessee defense.

Dobbs will put up better numbers overall. Agree with that.

About as much evidence as there is for John Franklin III

How about Treon Harris?

When did I ask about Treon Harris' production?

A Florida poster said McElwaine can get production out of a QB. I was merely pointing out that Florida fans (Yourself included) hated Harris as your QB because of a lack of production.

Would you care to deny that? I'm sure you can find some quotes of your fellow Gator fans if you take a quick look.

You still a little upset about the thread criticizing the way Florida handled the Harris/Callaway incident?

In FL spring game, if I'm not mistaken, Del Rio was the clear favorite. Made good throws and decisions. No mistakes. He looked like a veteran to me.

But I don't have a dog in this hunt

And that's the thing....if he protects the ball and gets just average production, Florida will be in good shape. They have an excellent defense, and are getting the pieces on offense they need. people criticizing Del Rio saying he has no experience sound silly. He doesn't have to carry the team, just be average.

Yes. If Greg McElroy can when a title - and no one is saying Del Rio will win a title - surely any average qb can compete if he has the supporting cast

Additionally and only stating the obvious - if Dobbs goes down - so go any chances for a UT trip to Atlanta. Of course, the same can be said of GA and Chubb. The one advantage I would say FL has in this situation is that they won't suffer quite the same if a member of their offense goes down.

(I am by no means wishing ill upon him or any other player. #allbrowsmatter)

Well, they gotta play somebody. And I assume they think he gives them the best chance to win.
