We all talk shite about Starkville.

It's not as bad as we pretend it is. The Cotton District isn't bad, there is some great food there. Lots to do outdoors if that's your dig. The wimmenz aren't TOP tier, but they ain't bad either. They are usually an easier lay than the rest because their usual selection is State dudes.

See Steve Spurrier last night.

Steve Spurrier has turned into Bobby Bowden.. At least Saban is trying something fresh and modern instead of keeping his old same ways by getting fist fricked by a mediocre ATM team on the National Stage.

What does Nick Saban know about Lane Kiffin?

It is more about who Lane Kiffin is related to. (Monte) have it on a pretty good source Saban is doing Monte a favor

I will try and give you the best answer I can. I am not Nick Saban so this would be just my best guess.

I think Saban can see that Kiffin can be a great offensive coach. He is a guy that rode his dads coattail and was given jobs he was not ready for. There are many coaches that are great coaches, but were thrust into the head job before they were ready. Dooley, and Shula are just two that come to mind without thinking about it.

Also, Kiffin was in charge of the passing game offense while at USC. They did pretty well during his tenure there. So, Saban is looking to open up a little more of the passing attack. And Kiffin is a great recruiter. Is that an ok answer?

After the last two games Saban knows that the gig is up so he searched the nation for a perfect scapegoat and Kiffin is that patsy.

After Kiffin is destroyed Saban bags Layla on the rebound provided he doesn't trip over his tongue.

He knows that Kiffin has been a douche and is a bad head coach, but he's a great offensive mind and a good OC.

Lulz. You mean the guy who was hired and when a defensive coonass in Ed Orgeron took over the offense was substantially better? That's the great offensive mind you're talking about?

quote:

I wouldn't invite him to my Christmas party, but he'd be on my shortlist of guys I want running my offense in CFB.

So by "shortlist" you mean like an Encyclopedia-sized leather-bound book? Is Gerry Dinardo on your list as well?

Alabama fans are so funny. Kiffin has never been anywhere and been anything better than average if not mediocre. His best feather is leading (as a CO-OC) the USC offense that had the likes of Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush, Lendale White, Dwayne Jarrett, Steve Smith, etc on it. Wow, impressive. Everywhere else he's been he's been an unmitigated disaster and left the program in worse shape than when he took it over.

Personally I think the guy was hired for two reasons. One, he could recruit an Eskimo to Africa (by being the sleaziest person on the planet but he does get it done). Two, I think Saban is taking it on as a "fvck you" to the media. When Kiffin first visited the media just lost it, and I think Saban hired him under the belief that he can win with anyone.

Maybe Saban's genius can insulate and protect Kiffin's dumbassery, but the guy is a flaming bag of moron.

One day Saban will write a book and it will cover all of this shite we have debated about over the years. And it will be awesome.

Great recruiter, especially at the QB position, with national name recognition and ties to the SEC states and California: Check

Offensive Coordinator for one of the most dominant offenses in college football history: Check

Head coaching experience in the SEC, Pac 12, and NFL: Check

I believe he is qualified to be Alabama's offensive coordinator.

Yea a guy being paid 7.5 million a year is entrusting the offense of the premier program in college football to someone as a favor to his daddy. Think about that for a second.
