What do the Rebs expect outside the Bama game this year?

Do the distractions play a part in the team's mindset and performance on the field and are your expectations lowered because of it? The quarterback remains which is a plus, but he does lose a huge weapon in Treadwell. Is there any part of the play calling you feel needs to be improved from last year? I watched the entire Florida game, but I was fan girling so hard over the fact Landmass was getting run out of the building by, in retrospect, a relatively mediocre Florida squad. I imagine you Ole Miss fans weren't too happy about the play calling in that one. But, to be honest, I can't remember if it was just getting outplayed or not.

One thing I will say even not being at that particular game myself, is that the place was rockin'. That whole time I was thinking "this is the kind of stuff that gives the Swamp its reputation."

Other than that, I've only seen bits and pieces of other games outside of the losses. One huge question I have is in regards to Chad Kelly's McTat-esque screen passes to Treadwell this past year. I saw a good bit of Chad Kelly fumbling around the ball and then tossing a magical pass to Treadwell. Does Hugh Freeze still use that (perhaps even more) despite the loss of his All American WR?

I can see this team possibly being near the same as it was this year or slightly less. Some teams they beat last year weren't necessarily up to par per their usual and return more than their fair share of athletes. But then again, they did beat Alabama last year so...you never know.

We've always used the screen pass heavily in our offense. That isn't just a Chad Kelly or a Treadwell thing. We use it as an extension of our run game and it both spreads the linebackers out and cheats up the secondary to the edges. Opens up a huge gap in the middle of the field. My guess is you'll see Stringfellow catching those passes this year. He has great hands and an even bigger body than Treadwell.

What run game? OP is right...magical passes to Treadwell was the best play you had in your playbook last year...

You are correct, we beat Alabama last year.

And the year before.
