The second PI was close but is called a lot.
It wasn't close IMO. The defender wasn't looking back and ran hard into Davis before the ball got there and had his arms hooking Davis' arms. Davis had his eyes on the ball, but was falling backwards from the contact and was never even able to get his hands up in position to make the catch. That's PI by definition. Nevertheless, I'm afraid the tech fan will never be "impressed" by Georgia. That's not on his agenda while trolling an SEC board.

Honestly the game went about as I expected, if it were true that Chubb was 100%, which certainly appeared to be the case. UNC is a good but not great team; probably 4th or 5th in the ACC. Their defense did not look much better than last year's. I thought the UGA defense looked improved and the young QB has tons of upside. I thought UGA would win 9 or 10 games this season and still hold to that. If they improve their defense a bit they could easily win the east and contend in ATL. Through week 1, Chubb is the PoY in the SEC. Long way to go.

Georgia seems the same like they do every year. They are good but not overly impressive. UNC I have no respect for. They never beat anyone good, and neither does their overrated coach.

I saw a scrub DB make a couple of decent plays.

I was so pissed from the LSU game, I couldn't bring myself to watch the end of UGA/UNC.

Y'all looked like the best team in the East, top 3 SEC.

Dawgs look like they always do
A program that has been overrated early every year and will do nothing in the SEC let alone the national stage with a highlight player that is overrated and will fade once they play the big dogs.
Nothing has changed

Yea. That's typical of year 1 post richt. Maybe next year or the year after. Need a left tackle and Eason needs more experience.

You can tell Kirby put some kind of governor on the play calling for the opener.
You guys might be able to gloat soon if Chaney goes full Chaney like ya'll predict. The stable of good running backs makes him run it most times atleast for this season.

That the secondary was in fact not too good for Smith to be able to walk into starting spot. That's it.

Since I am a Georgia fan and you asked for other opinions, I was going to pass. But there is just too much here to pass.
Refs. They had one bad call on the lineman downfield that went UGAs way. But they also overturned a fumble when the UNC QB tried to pull in a pump fake. And they missed an obvious block in the back that occurred right in front of the runner on their kick return. Together that's a 14 point swing.
To the poster who said we only won because it was a home game in the dome, even if it was a home game that's usually no more than 3 to 4 points. So No.
Offense was vanilla and we telegraphed our runs but we're still successful so I can see that.
QBs. Lambert is what he is, average. Eason is a freshman. Stay tuned.
Biggest concern I have is pass protection. We failed to pick up some delayed stunts and were beat some man to man.
Chubb is the beast he was before and we have quality behind him. We just need balance.
Summary. Our season depends on a healthy Chubb, Eason growing up quickly, and the Oline gelling.

Damn, typical. I was for Georgia, it wasn't a fumble.

It was a fumble, but the rule that overturned it prevents the use of a brain.
