It looked better than schottenheimer's play calling simply for the toss sweeps.

I think that UGA will go as far as Chubb will take them.

He isn't going to be able to carry the ball 35 times a game without wearing down or getting dinged up throughout the season. There's going to be a few games where UGA has to beat a team with Eason because Chubb will get slowed down. Whether or not Eason is ready to beat teams will determine if UGA is an 8-4 team or a 10-2 team.

I thought UGA had great run blocking and shaky at best pass blocking, and the defense was bailed out by UNC missing some opportunities early. Georgia is a good team, but temper expectations for this year. Georgia still isn't going to win the SEC, and are a top 20 caliber team to me. But they are talented and have potential in the coming years to be solid. I think the East will be exactly how it should be, between UF, UGA, and UT for the years to come.

didn't you say that UGA would be melting the hardest this weekend after we lose since our coach is a hick in over his head?

I agree with this assessment. I think another question is will the coaches start/play Eason enough to get him somewhat ready for that situation.

Thought y'all looked pretty decent off the jump. Excited to see how the season plays out.

Yeah, I did say that. I was wrong. I did not expect Nick Chubb to be able to take the ball 33 times and run for 230 yards and dominate a game the way he did, less than a year after one of the nastiest knee injuries I've ever seen.

I was immensely more impressed with Nick Chubb than I was with Kirby Smart's coaching.

Freshman QB will be a star soon.

Chubb is Chubb.

You have the skill players. The line will get better.

You could be in ATL in December.

From a UGA fan perspective, I don't see the Eason hype yet. Several passes Saturday were not crisp, and he put too much air under a few. He also missed at least one open receiver in the red zone and threw to the wrong guy. Based on that limited viewing, he's not quite ready to take over.

Fairly happy with the run blocking and RB's, although Chubb doesn't have his burst back yet, IMO. Maybe I'm watching too closely, but he didn't look quite as quick through the hole. Pass blocking was mediocre.

Run defense looked better than I expected. Pass defense didn't get much of a test because Trubisky was not very good. He has a noodle arm and unless something changes their offense will take a big step back this year.

UNC ran us over and Trubisky tested our D deep twice with nice pass attempts. Those are 2 deep TD's with a lesser DB on the trail.

I bet he gets between 15-20 per game the rest of the way. Thats where Sony Michel comes in, and then Herrien and Holyfield will back them up. Speaking of Herrien, I never expected him to look so good. He had 2 huge runs for us.

I didn't say we stoned their runners, I said our run D looked better than I expected, particularly since our freshmen DL played quite a bit. They had a few good runs, but overall I thought it was satisfactory.

As for Trubisky, go back and look at his longer throws. If he doesn't throw wobbly moonshots, our db's would've gotten burned several times.

They looked to me like a group of young players that had faith in their coach. When they players believe in their coach they will play their arse off for him. They look like they have bought in to what Kirby has told them about his process to make them champions. I think Kirby will be a great coach at Georgia for a long time.

They ripped off a few chunk plays when UGA got undisciplined. Whenever UGA stayed in their gaps, UNC got nothing. That's why it was so inconsistent. They were in 3rd and long a lot. UGA DL (Trent Thompson and Hawkins, mostly) owned the LOS most of the game.

Holding UNC to 17 points is pretty good.

I thought he was awesome. He didn't stuff the stat sheet but he caved in their OL several times.

Not to mention the pistol and various 3 TE sets.

Was very impressed with Chaney on Saturday

I thought uga looked pretty decent throughout but nobody except Chubb really stood out. More than anything I felt like UNC kept fricking up and uga took what it was given. Not to take anything away from uga because that is exactly what any well coached team would do, but it makes it difficult to determine did uga win, or unc just lose.

I really wanted Chaney to show his arse. He didn't. He may actually do well for you guys

Anyway, the first game is surely an indicator I may have been wrong. Nice pick up.

I rewatched it yesterday. He blew up everything inside the tackles.
