Saban is GOAT for a reason. He has hurt a lot of fanbases and their teams. As a UGA fan...

1) 2017 NC
2) 2012 SECCG
3) 2023 SECCG
4) 2021 - SECCG
5) 2008 - Funeral Game

That Vince Vaughn meme sums up how I feel about Saban perfectly.

2003 UGA at LSU was a painful one. Outgained them by a lot (150ish yards, IIRC). Got inside the LSU 40 six times in the first half and scored 3 points with a bunch of missed FGs.

If Georgia had won that game, the SECCG opponent would have been Ole Miss instead of a rematch with LSU. I think Georgia would have run train on Ole Miss that year and may have played for a national title.

Funeral Game kind of tops the list for me and the 2015 game.

Those close ones were heart wrenching and the 2021 SECCG, I knew we had a mulligan and could play better than that.

Funeral game

We were preseason no. 1 and got completely slaughtered. The final score doesn't reflect the domination.

2015 game

Tried to believe the crap that we were a better team than them, favored and all. And watched us get slaughtered again in front of our own fans.

So happy that those days are gone.

Happy retirement, GOAT!

That sounds a lot like 2011 LSU Bama. Except the rematch turned out differently.

As an Auburn fan, I never truly expected to win against Saban’s team at Bama except ‘07, ‘10, and ‘13–all of which we won.

There were others where I was hopeful but not confident. ‘14 namely; that stung.

The times we came close but lost (‘09, ‘21, and ‘23) hurt initially; but when you realize we shouldn’t have even been in the game and far exceeded expectations, the sting dissipates quickly and you become proud of how your team did despite the loss.

2017 NC May be as bad a beat as has ever happened in CFB given what was at stake. Certainly as bad a beat as I can remember as a UGA fan. We have lost games that were more disappointing to me but given the stakes thats about as bad as it gets.

LSU-

There are losses to Alabama that hurt, 1/9 being one of the most painful.

But it might be Christmas Day 2004.
Saban was our coach, had been talking to NFL teams and then when asked about it, he would basically insult the reporter and say "I'm the coach at LSU, I'm not interested in the NFL. Aight?"
Like your hot wife who talks to all the guys at the gym, but "isn't cheating on you".

Surprised the Hurts redemption comeback game didn’t make the list.

Honestly, the OU-LSU Sugar Bowl for the BCS NC. Those teams were pretty evenly matched, but Saban's D made virtually no mistakes. That was a tough loss, more so than some of the CFP blowouts

2023 SECCG, we were coming off back to backs and broke your conference winning streak.

2018 SECCG, I knew we were not as good. The way you had played all season, I expected to lose. It was heartbreaking, but I thought we had played you better than anyone up to that point. At the time, before the CLemson game, thought your team might be the greatest in CFB history.

2012 SECCG. Heartbreaking, but again I was halfway worried about being embarrassed. We didn't show up at all that year vs. SC and was really happy we at least gave it a good effort.

2nd and 26- It hurt bad, but I knew the future was bright. It took longer than I thought after that, but I was right.

I guess the difference is in those close games I had hope that we were closing the gap. The funeral, I really didn't know how good you were gonna be that year, but I knew we were not close to a national championship caliber.

2015 Just made me realize we had not only not made progress since 2012, we had actually fallen back. Sucked. No hope out of either of those games.
