well yeah that does have something to do with it man no doubt. success of the programs will always have something to do with a rivalry. and yeah ive always hated alabama. theyre a slimy program that is dirty and cheats. the whole saban thing really pushed things over the edge with me though. this is why lsu is different when it comes to a rivalry bc we dont have an in state school that is on our level. by proximity it would be texas am...and some believe they are our rivals now. some believe ole miss is bc of the old days and the rivalry that was so heated then...but nowadays IN MY OPINION our rival is bama. theres no right or wrong answer buddy. just my opinion.

and that includes the players that play on our teams right now. do you agree with that?
I'd imagine LSU players circle one or two games every year and they are the two teams they think are most likely to derail their goals. It just so happens Bama has been one of those teams since 2008.

what team do you think les miles and the football players are chomping at the bit to play next year and beat more than any other team?
I'd say MSU and AU to get some respect back after those two beatdowns.

Personally, I don't care to be in a "rivalry" with a team that cares more about beating someone else. The Crimson Tide would take a loss to LSU and a win over Auburn 10/10 times compared to the other way around.

Yes, there is. You hate Bama, that doesn't make them LSU's rival.
Tradition and the animosity between the fanbases makes Ole Miss LSU's main rivals. aTm is climbing the list pretty fast though and the first time they beat LSU it's going to push that rivalry into overdrive.

well we just disagree then...which is fine. solidifying that lsu really doesnt have a true rival like most other schools have...which is fine. you could ask 10 lsu fans and get one of 4 schools really.

I'm both excited and terrified to see what the rant will become when this happens. Its a scary prospect.

I'll probably just stay away from this place. It's going to be a nightmare.

One of these things is a rivalry, one is not.
Alabama - Auburn
Alabama - LSU
Alabama - Auburn
Alabama - LSU

I'm saying there is a right or wrong answer to who is LSU's rival, yes. Just because you feel it's Bama doesn't make it so. The fact that the majority of LSU's fanbase will say it's OM makes them LSU's true rival. I'm sorry you're too slow to comprehend that.
ETA: I'm really starting to hate aTm, but I'm not dumb enough to believe they are a bigger rival than OM. Not at this point, at least. Do you see how that works?

What are you talking about? I don't give a shite about your opinion. There will be quite a few LSU fans that will think Bama, aTm, or Arky is LSU's main rival. You may even find a few that still say Tulane is.
My point is you're trying to claim there's no right or wrong answer to who LSU's rival is, which is just plain false. LSU's main rival is OM, and that would be backed up by the majority of the fanbase.

Doing some soul-searching since the subject of identifying LSUs rival is of such conflict.
Seems to me that not a single school satisfies each aspect.

Nah, man. That's just all of their opinions presented in an overwhelming majority. The only opinion that matters and that isn't wrong is his.
