LSU is giving up 15 points per game. I think it's fair to assume we are slightly better than your average opponent so far, so expect Alabama to score 17-21? Is that fair?

The insecurity, unwarranted though it is, seems to come from Alabama fans. The only reason I started this thread was because I think I've seen about 10 threads in the last few days saying how LSU's revitalized offense is just a sham because they've played terrible defenses, and how everyone on this board seems to be giddy that we will all be walking the ledge when we can't move the ball against the greatest football team that ever walked the face of the earth. I'm just trying to counter-balance some of this hogwash. Think of it as equal airtime.

It will be a typical LSU Bama game in TS where both teams play like shite and make mistakes and it comes down to some bullshite in the 4th to decide it

If only we had some 4th qtr fortune on our side recently

I fully expect Alabama to gash LSU on the ground.

We'll see. Bottling up a triple option, and make no mistake, we are running a spread triple option with predetermined reads, requires discipline and committing guys to the box. The guy running routes on Jackson or Tolliver is a better football player than the kid covering him, be it Ridley or Stewart. Howard on Beckwith or Riley is a mismatch. Hurts might not be able to beat LSU through the air, but he's going to have open receivers

There isn't a single poster on this site that tries to pose as rational, but in reality is a complete homer, quite like you.

It's impressive.

Considering statistical rankings I have Bama's offense scoring 2-3 TD's plus 1-2 FG's. Call it 17-27 pts of offense. Add 1 NOT so 24-34.

LSU scores 10-17.

Maybe. Maybe not. We only gave up 13 points to Ole Miss (if you take out the 9 yard post-fumble TD drive) which I think you could argue has a more dynamic offense than Alabama. So, if you get a defensive TD, maybe you score 20?

Auburn may have something to say about that

Eh, we'll see at the end of the year. Right now they are leading in points/game but we lead them in total defense including almost 200 less rush yards/game.

I'd love to see this math

Was thinking about the same thing. I know Lane will make adjustments, but how does the true freshman QB handle himself for 4 quarters in Tiger Stadium is my question.

Where wasn't it? When everything someone posts equates to "We're just better in every way", they're a homer.

Alright, so we'll be lucky to get to 20.

Yea, if that's the case, we might lose.

You might score 50, I don't know. If you score 3 defensive/ST TDs like you did against Ole Miss, we're toast.

Every time people think they have shite figured out, everything goes exactly the opposite. Watch this turn into a 50-48 shootout. Who knows? It's all about where the mindset is of 18 to 20 year olds on a Saturday night in Baton Rouge. Nick always seems to have his guys laser focused, so you have to like your chances.

I just have a hard time imagining this game, in Baton Rouge, not being like every other game in Baton Rouge. 24-20/20-17/17-14 type game that is tied or within 1 score in the 4th quarter. It's just how it seems to go.

You can pretty much throw this out the window in this game. These two have combined for 50 once since Saban has been at Alabama.

Not necessarily. But I don't think he said that anyway.

Defensive and special teams TDs also effectively take away possessions from the offense. I'm guessing the adjusted PPG is probably around 37-38 when you consider this. Plus I think we are 11th in the country in yards per play and 12th in total offense (again, despite losing possessions).

So I guess you can make the numbers say whatever you'd like them to say. But yes, we are good on offense. Lots of skill and a terrific OL. Will we struggle against LSU? Probably. I don't expect us to score 40 points. But I don't think we'll need to.

And I don't think most LSU fans are nearly as confident as they sound here. Most of us hope for close game with a chance to win at the end.
