He is doing the same things at State that he could do at Florida
this is ridiculous. fla has 5 times the resources that state has. they can get better players. they have better facilities. they have lots more money. they have much more exposure. they have more tradition. I can't believe some people are actually suggesting that he not go to fla because he's just fine at state. there's NO COMPARISON between the 2. fla has the biggest or 2nd biggest budget in the conference.

absolutely, no question. however, coaches want to win on the biggest stage and that means taking the pressure jobs. every pressure job like fla that opens up has coaches line up for miles to get in the door. those are places where the biggest reputations are made and they all want a crack at it.

quote:

Mullen could go 0-12 the next two years, but if he gets State in the playoff this year, a golden statue of his will be made next to Davis-Wade.
which of course means nothing if fla comes open and he's interested.

Like it or not, State may not be a top 10 job, but could be a top 20 job
so what? fla is a top 5 job. no comparison between the 2.

Dan could almost write his own salary because of his relationship with the administration and current product. Dan has been here since 2009 and has had chances to leave, but stayed. State has upgraded facilities and built a new football complex with a weight room that's second to none. The stadium is vastly improved and MSU mostly recruits players from MS, LA, AL, and that is a huge benefit.
and this is a drop in the bucket compared to fla.

look, he might not leave. but comparing the 2 is just absurd.

It is really sad how scared you guys are of Mullen and Mississippi State
I don't think miles and lsu are scared of him. it took 18 returning starters and lsu's worst team since '99 for state to beat them.

Mullen needs to strike while the Stoops is getting another year under his belt.

This seems to be the point that most stupid bitches like you don't understand. This team is loaded with 2-3* players that Mullen evaluated and saw something that others didn't. It is beneath most schools to recruit the relative no-names that Mullen has built this team with. You should be scared shitless that your coach couldn't find talent like we have with a fricking guide.

what in the sam hill does this have to do with my point? fla has much greater resources and pretty much everybody knows it.

miles has found plenty of highly ranked players and plenty that weren't who made a big impact, like Jacob hester. and he's also moved players from one position to another so they could make an impact. he seems to have plenty of players in the nfl, some of whom have respectable careers.

miles compares very favorably to mullen in pretty much any aspect of coaching.

If Florida calls, he should crawl through broken glass from Starkvegas to Gainesville to accept. No offense to tGrinders, but it's hard to sustain anything at tGrindU.
