Well we are seeing the full force of the transfer portal and NIL now.

College football is pretty much gone. This isn't a melt, a word I really have grown to hate... This is pointing out a change for the worst.

Seems I'm losing interest in this sport even more now. I really don't care to watch another game. College football shouldn't be this way.

And don't give me the lecture on how it's better for the players. Didn't see many complaints for 40 years. Coaching and tv contracts getting into the $$millions caused this. Money and greed once again ruined another thing in the world.

Players have zero allegiance to the school they play for any more than the coaches do now. I don't care what they tweet out on their cell phones trying to say different.

Kill the scholarships, kill the $100M facilities. Let them earn their way now.

Fans made the sport, like any sport. And this screws the sport from a fan perspective.

Just my rant. Disagree all you want.

Read my edit.

Not a melt. Doesn't even feel like college football anymore.

Those complaints came when coaches started making $6M a year and tv contracts hitting $100M or whatever it is.

Guess you don't remember when players played for schools they love and wanted to play for.

Shame.

We have had graduate transfer for a long time. Bo is a graduate transfer.

Now I do have a problem with Freshmen, Sophomores leaving and being immediately eligible. I wish we could have an SEC rule to prevent transferring to an SEC school.

I do see the logic as in the past schools and coaches would not let you transfer even when you had to sit one year.

If Auburn wasn't looking like it was running in a ditch, you'd still like college football fine.

Looks to me like we are seeing the consequences of hiring a bad coach that doesn't mesh with the program

I freaking LOVE college football just as much today as I've ever loved it in my life.

Yeah man I actually agree with some of your points but that’s still definitely a melt. If Auburn was getting ready for the playoffs right now you’d be as passionate of a fan as ever.

I don't care about Bo transferring.

You all think this is going to be good for the sport. It'll be like every other big mistake in the world. Give it a few years and the sport will be a completely different sport.

Just takes time for people to realize it. Then it too late, already done.

Or a very good coach rebuilding a program?

I hope he gets the time to prove it one way or another.

No what I remember is that scholarships were always 1 year contracts that a-hole coaches could yank at a moments notice if they felt the player wasn't good enough even if that kid was doing great at school and that coaches could leave whenever the hell they wanted potentially fricking over all the players they left behind.

Kids only get 4-5 years to play and the vast majority will never play beyond college. Forcing them to stay at place they don't want to be b/c you want to be entertained is horseshite.

Has nothing to do with Auburn.

Eventually you'll realize it was a mistake too hopefully, but by then, it's already gone.

Maybe I should just remove the AU by my name. Seems you people can't get past that.

I'm speaking for the sport as a whole.

Nope, same thoughts I've had since the rumors about all this years ago.

I couldn't name 5 people on our team. My care in the sport has completely diminished.

Them program's have to learn to adjust and evolve with the rapidly changing landscape of college football. The program's that can't will be left behind.
