Sure, but that doesn't really mean he failed because of his style.
Then why did he fail? And not a fricking paragraph of why, but a sentence that a third grader could understand.
quote:
Yes, but he adapted a lot when Enos was hired. Go look at the 2015 Ole Miss win and tell me that looks like Bert B10 football.
He adapted because he had to. He adapted because he couldn't get the players he needed and he wanted to keep his job.
Early on Bert swung and missed on one big recruit after another, and then burned his bridges with Texas high school coaches because he defending his big boy style of play.

I don't have an issue with the I told you so on Bert. I just think the line you used would be 5th down at least.
Then give me a better one! I am throwing out A&M ones left and right.

Well then add it. My attempts:

I think yall have the best reverse I told you so:

I already said it, in game coaching. You could really point to 2nd half adjustments. I'm sure you could find some good stuff from this year but last year's A&M game had plenty of examples.

Nah, he mainly let OCs do their thing. You can see a perfect example of this with the difference between Chaney and Enos. There are a few times where it felt like he was giving his input but not for the most part. The line I said before about him adapted wasn't stated very well. I think the whole smash mouth B10 style football has been overused and pushed on Bert but he still loves to own it so I'm not blaming anyone for it.

So like all Arkansas coaches

We told you his success in the B10 was because of a weak conference. That is 10x better IMO.

While not incredibly recent the Arkansas fans warning Ole Miss "You don't want Nutt, you really, really do not want Nutt." Deserves honorable mention.
One that might not play out is Arkansas and Tenn fans warning Georgia that Chaney sucks the meat missile. His first year there that was certainly true but this year's Georgia is so good that not even Chaney can derail them.
Everybody warned LSU about Coach O. Wisconsin fans warned us about Bert... and everything they said he'd do while he was here he's done.
South Carolina gets a hard pass on hiring Moosechimp. They knew exactly what his flaws were when they hired him but they had to have a coach with some fire and that could recruit them out the hole that Spurrier left them in by retiring two years before he bothered to stop coaching.
Muschamp probably doesn't get them to back to back 11 win seasons but so far he's done a solid job of rebuilding a team that was dead in the water. He's not a "the second coming of Bryant or Saban" hire, but he's a solid hire for what they had to have. I'd rather have him then Bielema right now. Granted I'd rather have the West Memphis High School HC then Bielema right now.

South Carolina was a retirement gig for Spurrier. No pressure, had a few good years then got tired of coaching and walked off

Which would have been fine but he effectively got tired of coaching and walked away... while still holding down the South Carolina head coaching gig. He did some great things while he was USC but he really did them wrong at the end there.

We've brought in 2 off-field assistants to help on offense.
Despite playing a true freshman 2 seasons in a row, we are having success with RPOs this year. Last year, we were square peg into a round hole.
I can't say for sure whether the change is learning from last seasons mistakes. Or the 2 off-field assistants. Or better personnel (qb, OL in particular)

Ooo good one. Thank you for playing ball.
I won't include USCe in my next one of these threads as tribute.

Yes, but one day, he could take the Hurricanes to natty in ATL and win it. Which would be great.
