I thought it would be fun to have a thread where we give credit for the times when opposing fans on the SEC Rant were right about something that fans of that program tried to deny.

Here are a few of my recent favorites to get the ball rolling. Please be sure to add your own.

Ole Miss: "Yall are going to get caught by the NCAA."

Arkansas: "Bert's style of football won't work with the talent Arkansas as a program can recruit."

LSU: "Neither Tom Herman nor Jimbo Fisher will be the head coach of LSU football."

Texas A&M: "John Chavis is washed up looking for a payday."

South Carolina: "Will Muschamp was already a failure at a better program and your program hiring him is a huge mistake."

Mizzou: "Gary Pinkel was a high point for your program and the next guy for sure won't do better."

Well yeah but I don’t think that’s the reason for all our probs maybe even not the reason for most of our probs.

Florida : "Will Muschamp has been rejected as Mack's future replacement for a reason and your program hiring him is a huge mistake."

This applies to Florida as well

He hasn't been a fit, that is for sure.

What would you say the problem is? The guy was a Rose Bowl level coach in the B1G.

Maybe he is, but that 3rd down defense is good. 15th in the nation.

I think that it's a little too early to make this call. Yea, we lost to Kentucky and struggled to beat La. Tech, but we continue to improve on defense and have some decent skill guys on O. If we finish the season 5-7 or something, then I will agree with you.

Not having top talent doesn’t answer why we continually choke. I mean you think we lost to you guys - Brandon’s interception- was due to talent?

Maybe that coach should've tried recruiting more so we didn't have to completely rebuild the team when Muschamp took over

Also Spurrier was no stranger to losing to Kentucky in his final years

And in any other thread I would try to argue the same thing regarding the point I made about Chavis.

This isn't "be defensive thread." We are exploring cases when the common wisdom might have been right.

So far we haven't seen anything from Will's tenure at USCe that contradicts the Rant's logic on his hire.

The offense play style hasn't really been the issue at all for his tenure here, especially after the Enos hire. I would say overall it has been in game coaching and just lack of athleticism in general on both sides of the ball. Which is an issue most of the time here.

And what have we seen that proves the logic correct?

What were your serious expectations for South Carolina at this point? 5-1? 6-0?

He's done just fine so far.

I don't think any single loss is due to talent, but I think part of the reason we have a winning streak against Arky is a combination of superior talent and the fact that Bert is simply not a fit in the SEC at any program that can't get top tier talent.

The funny thing about Ole Miss is that they weren't caught on any of the players they allegedly cheated to sign. Just a player who signed with a rival school, who also admitted to taking money from the school he signed with.
