The point that douchebag is missing ISN'T that Mizzou has been through tough patches before. It's that those tough patches have been against competition that pales in comparison to what they will see in the SEC. Losing by 60+ to Kansas State? But, somehow, it's impossible for it to get worse. Ever.

What is the general sentiment toward Arkansas from your fan base? Hate? Rivalry? Screw them? Still hate Kansas more? Hate Arkansas because you can't spell Arkansas without kansas?

The hatred for kansas is infinite and will never go away. It was there in the hearts of our forefathers before either Mizzou or ku even started playing sports and it will be there long after. It really doesn't even matter if we play or not, its like asking if you hate being robbed or if you hate being gang raped by midgets or eaten by bears. Aside from the occasional freak who doesn't get it, everyone hates those things.

Arky is just another series right now. There is more interest because its a border state and we have a nice little history with them in basketball during the Norm Stewart-Nolan Richardson years. But a few months worth of message board smack and trolling with their fans has not and will not displace 150 years of loathing and spite derived from actual gunshots, bloodshed, and death.

I just want to state for the record that Deliverance was filmed in Georgia

And written by James Dickey, who was born in Atlanta, went to and played football for Clemson, went to Vandy for Grad school, and taught at USCe and UF.

So, if we're going down, you fricks are all comin with us

FWIW, I'm a big fan of Dickey as a writer. Deliverance and his poetry are rather impressive

You guys are new around here so I'll give you a pass. But, just 4 short years ago, we were a "has been", "washed up", and would never return to our former glory. At least, that's what the Rant told me.

Dude, that is pretty offensive to come here and try to "relate" to me and preach to me about what it is to be a "true fan" who goes through hardship and struggle. YOU ARE A frickING BAMA FAN YOU NITWIT. Your sig line says it all. You know ABSOLUTELY JACK shite SQUAT about real hard times in college football.

As a Bamian you get to proclaim being best or near the best at many things in the realm of football. Good for you. But what you CANNOT have, DO NOT have, is the ability to portray yourself as a college equivalent of a Cubs fan, so gosh darn loyal to your little team and golly the rug always gets pulled out from under you but that's okay cuz you're a "born fan" and therefore you are a better fan than us cuz you know how to make it through the "tough times".

frick.

THAT.

shite.

You are talking to a fricker who grew up in Columbia Missouri in the 1980s and 1990s. 13 straight god damn mother fricking titty sucking LOSING SEASONs. We lost to national champ Colorado on FIFTH frickING DOWN. DO YOU GET THAT? The ref gave them FIVE DOWNS. Do you know what its like to sit in the nosebleeds in Columbia Missouri in November in 30 degree weather and watch your fricking 3-8 team in its 10th straight losing season pissing away a senior day game to fricking 4-7 Iowa State? YOU CAN RELATE TO THAT? frick OFF. frick OFF. frick OFF.

Ok I'm done. But seriously, frick off with that shite. What you are saying to me in the above post is like Donald Trump telling a homeless amputee from Somalia that he can totally relate to him because this one time his room at the Ritz wasn't big enough and he didn't have a personal check handy to just buy the hotel and make a bigger one.

Wow, that was a pretty damn awesome rant also

Bammers are never allowed to bitch. Hell, we can bitch a helluva lot more than they can. While our pain isn't obviously in your tier we have been getting boned for a long time.

That is also why we have fans who believe we can beat Alabama this year. We are un-effing-stoppable by comparison. Hell, we actually have a new generation of fans who think an 8 win season is just mediocre.

I know. But they say "the children are our future" and I frankly welcome that. Remember, our dads and grandads and Mizzou fans up through the 1960s and 1970s thought of the equivalents of 8 wins seasons in those eras as being just mediocre too. That's why we canned Al Onofrio in the 1970s, because we thought we were entitled to more than that, and based on what we'd done in the 1960s they were valid in thinking that. I personally (and it sounds like perhaps you too) just had the misfortune of coming of age during the Mizzou football equivalent of the Great Depression from 1984-1997, a horrid era of blight and despair that our generation has learned from, and needs to do everything in its power to make SURE that the next, younger generation never ever knows of or experiences anything of its like. I'd much rather have little Mizzou fans running around like Bama tykes, not a care in the world and not an emortional scar to be found in their sporting psyche.

That's a damn good point and that's a damn good example of how much more gratifying the experience can be with reading a book vs. going to a drive inn theater or movie (I think there's still a few around somewhere). I've read a lot of good books that suck as films. Now you're making me want to check it out.
