Can we please finally give credit where credit is due? Alabama has a strong football team. I'm tired of hearing GA/Clemson was overrated, or any other way that tries to spin this Bama team into a bad team which they are not. I was skeptical going into last nights game too and thought that they maybe overrated but I am eating some crow. I live 45 minutes from ground zero of delusion and I can't stand most Alabama fans but the team is good. We need to quit getting our panties in a wad and wait and see what happens on Nov 7. We just look uneasy and jealous.

my only problem w/ bama is they have yet to play a legit offensive line. clemson and uga were both makeshift lines. if they dominate big herm, helms, and ciron i will be the first to give them credit. they still have something to prove in my book.

Clemson WAS grossly overrated. Georgia did not play like a Top 10 team. Giving up nearly 200 yds in penalties is a back breaker no matter who you are playing. Georgia looked overconfident, made a ton of mistakes and was basically shell shocked when Bama actually scored on them. I though Bama was playing Clemson again.

That being said, I already gave them their due last night. They have a good team but there's still a lot of games to be played. Mount Cody is one good chop block away from landing his fat arse on the sidelines and Bama's defensive interior falling apart. Just saying.

I'd say hold off on annointing them as being back. Remember, Shula brought them back in 05 for nine games before Lsu went to T-town and sent them into a tailspin.

So no credit for pummeling UGA in their building?? Of course they still have something to prove...they have 7 games left. But Bama is legit right now.

You would think so, but for most of you on this board, the answer to that is no.

uga had a freshmen and backups all on that line. i'm just saying in both of bama's big wins they played teams with weak o-lines. they haven't seen anything like our line. i'm not taking anything away from bama, i'm just saying their defensive line has yet to face a nasty oliine that will hit them in the mouth.

This board is quite possibly completely retarded. Alabama is a good team this year, I can't believe so many people are trying to spin it, yet an AUBURN fan is able to admit it.

I think you'd like to see him "landing his fat arse on the sidelines," wouldn't you?

Look at yourself.

and i've played this little game with the bama fans before. after the florida thrashing in 05 they were back. after hte ut beat down in 07 they were gonna take us down...and on and on and on. obviously this team is better than both of the ones i just mentioned (though the 05 defense was stout), but i think history is on my side here.

No problem. Shula was a better recruiter than anyone gave him credit for and that has made Saban's job easier in his second year.

Here's to you Shula

you are right Ross bama is a good team. some idiots on here don't want to admit that. saban is a great coach. he took our program to another level. he will win at Bama.

Auburn is the last game on the schedule. We'll at least get 11 games out of Cody.

That's right. Saban's record clearly shows he is perfect...NOT.

Shula took over a team that just came off of severe probation. He when 4-9 his first year, 6-6 the second and 10-2 his third. His fourth year was an impossible task because he had boosters pissed off due to him not winning the NC in 2005 and his head was on a platter all season. He could not coach without someone looking over his shoulder and basically had Mal Moore cut him off at the knees from a coaching standpoint. I would say Saban was on their radar at that time.

So, what happens if Saban has his average number of losses (3) late in this season and does not finish off what's become a NC season for them? What happens if the team takes a step back early next season? Will boosters be calling for his head too?

Again, coaching at Alabama is an impossible situation and I would not wish it on my worst enemy.
