Who's riding coattails in this thread boudreaux? I understand your hate for Arkansas and kind of like it but your anger is best spent elsewhere.

Idk what you're talking about. But I am talking in general. Not just this thread. I think Bob was referring to in general as well and likely has no clue this thread exists.

Thanks Gumps.
It took The Gumps to make Stoops legitimate again.
Freaking Gumps.

All these quotes are his attempts to boost his program's image. 2013 Alabama is worse than all of the national championship teams by a good margin.
quote:

"What about Texas A&M and Missouri?" Stoops said. "They've been in the Big 12 for 100 years. … They don't seem to be overwhelmed in that league. And they haven't been ruling the Big 12 the entire time that they were here, right?"

They aren't ruling the SEC either. Hey Stoops, how come Oklahoma State, Kansas State, and Baylor have all won the Big 12 more recently than Oklahoma, embarrassing Oklahoma in the process? Yeah, the most recent three Big 12 champions are some real historical powerhouses right?

Hey, if the Big 12 is so great, why have 4 teams left it? Why doesn't anyone leave the SEC?

Why are you 1-3 in the national championship game?

How did you team lose to Texas this year?

How does it feel to be a member of a conference whose champion was owned by the AAC winner?

And to say we can't … well, Alabama's been rolling the SEC for the last three years and we didn't seem to be overwhelmed last night. I'm done with that talk."

I can't really disagree with this. He's right, and I don't mind a little smack talk. I'm not gonna get butthurt about it.

I read that as the top tier of the SEC are good, the lower half arent world beaters like the SEC chanters and media would like you to believe

Except "bottom-tier" Ole Miss went into Texas' home stadium and beat them convincingly. Then Texas beat OU and almost won the Big 12.

Stoops is so spot on someone should have asked why his Amazing flesh and blood brother can't even win a SEC game though...

People love it when Spurrier talks shite. They get pissed when Stoops does it. I guess Spurrier is more flamboyant.

No, it's just he says things with some humor. Stoops comes off like a whiny douche.

i think it's because spurrier is old so people think it's cute. i don't- i've been around enough crotchety cantankerous old bastards to not find it charming in the least.

All I know is Bob Stoops can talk shite, as hes earned it and is a successful coach. Only coach to have won a NC,and all 4 of the BCS bowls. I mean I'll give him some lenience on the three other NC appearances. 2004-05 USC was so dominant. 03 LSU had a badass defense. And 08 FLA had a pretty good defense and Percy Harvin. (Harvin was the difference in that game, not Tebow) Besides the USC game, those were pretty close games.

Bob Stoops also owns the B12. They should rename it the Bob Stoops conference. How many B12 championships has he won in Football? Almost similar to the Kansas Basketball team in terms of success.

And lastly why are you surprised OU beat Bama. Stoops is now 3-0 vs them. Eerily similar to 08 Utah in terms of speed vs power matchup. OU winning was no fluke. Only team Ive seen this year that could consistently apply pressure to Mccarron. Hes not that good when he doesnt have all day to throw. 2nd in the heisman? What a joke. This btw is all coming from an A&M Fan.

Bottom Line he talked the talk and he walked the walk. Period. Props and we move on.

So Ole Miss is a "bottom tier" SEC team. They beat LSU, Vandy, Texas and Georgia Tech this year. So, his whole premise is actually inaccurate.

Last year, Auburn was a "bottom tier" SEC team. This year, they're in the National Championship.
