It's that time again. Feedback, insults, debate and disagreement are welcomed. They are usually more productive if you put homerism aside and provide info on who you think should be on the list, who should be left off and why. Please understand the criteria listed below for this list before responding.

As always this list chronicles the top SEC running backs by production on the field to date for the current season. Objective statistics are the primary criteria utilized in formulating this list, however, the statistics are set into context based on the quality of opponent upon which the statistics were accumulated. In some instances where the choice is close, a subjective eye test is also taken into account. However, hype, injuries, suspensions, etc. are not. This isn't a list of most talented or a prediction of NFL draft status. It is just an unbiased look at which 5 SEC RB's are getting the job done the best on the field. As such, this list will likely drastically change each week, especially early in the season.

Without further adieu:

1. Todd Gurley - Still the easy choice here.

2. Mike Davis - His most recent performance wasn't as good or efficient as his first 2, but he is still getting the job done against 3 quality opponents in the first 3 weeks.

3. WILCO - I'm putting Johnathan Williams and Alex Collins here tied at 3. I originally had these 2 at 4th behind Yeldon, but the weakness of aTm's run D combined with the fumble issues caused me to re-evaluate. Their numbers are extraordinarily impressive and there is a chance that one of these backs could climb to the top of these rankings in time. However, in a list where we are comparing RBs throughout the SEC, the lack of any quality opponents makes it very difficult to compare these two with most others in the conference. In 2 or 3 more weeks we should have a better understanding of these 2.

5. Jeff Scott - He and Corey Grant are carrying their respective teams at times by using explosive running plays while getting limited touches in comparison to most of the other backs on this list. Scott had the better week 3 game and edges Corey Grant out this week. Additionally, Scott's ypg fro scrimmage has him edge out TJ Yeldon for the 4th slot.

First One Out. TJ Yeldon - solid performances against quality teams (although only one quality defense). Still, both opponents are BCS bowl conference opponents, so he almost slides into the list at number 5 for the first time this season. TJ also has to take better care of the ball if he wishes to move up this list (and I know from a good source -buccwildbammer - that he does).

Honorable Mentions: Corey Grant, Rajon Neal, Jeremy Hill.

Magee > yeldon. Punish the terrible fumble.

Magee > yeldon.
Much like Corey Grant, his lack of touches is hurting him on this list. That combined with not doing much with limited touches against the likes of UAB.

I dropped him from 3 to 4 based mostly on the fumble issue.

i think the minimal touches pushes grant and scott higher on the list for getting so many yards per rush. and scott had over 24o all purpose yards and a punt return. he should be higher

Terrible list, Alex Collins and Jonathan Williams are both top 7 nationally. But you don't think that matters because of the competition? Most teams have played nothing but terrible opponents so that point is invalid. They should both be top 5 individually in the SEC if they're top 7 in the country.

It matters, but how much does it matter. The level of competition makes it difficult to evaluate.

Name one player on this list that has played as shitty of a schedule so far as WILCO. Hell, name any BCS conference running back that has played such an easy slate for 3 weeks.

They should both be top 5 individually in the SEC if they're top 10 in the country.
That logic doesn't hold up based on the criteria of the list. Nevertheless, they are both top 5 on this list.

If it's a ranking of the top 5 running backs in the SEC, you can't have a tie. That makes 6. If this list was legit it would have Collins at #1 and Williams at #2.

This is supposed to be a week to week ranking, but WDE is coming up with new parameters every time. Now it's no longer a ranking of the best running backs, just ones who have played opponents that WDE deems acceptable.

Alex Collins is the first running back in SEC history to rush for 100+ yds in his first 3 games.

Will he break his own record this week at Rutgers and make it 4 straight?

I considered this, but decided I would allow it this week because of the unique situation that Arky has presented me with.

No, it is cumulative.

The parameters have always been the same.

No, it is a list of the best RBs taking into account quality of opponent as it should be.

Yep, Mike Davis is crushing it.

He is a shifty back, but built like a bruiser. He'll be a good one.

Yes. You think having a tie changes the parameters for making the list? I hope you are trolling because if not, wow.

What's your response to Collins doing something Dmac, Bo, and Herschel didn't?

You said the parameters have always been the same, but you decided to change them this week because of our schedule.

Collins leads the conference in rushing and you have him third, that alone makes the list invalid. Not just calling the list "Top 5 SEC RB's" when you have 6.
