Agreed. Unstoppable force of nature. I used to argue for Bo, but Herschel cannot be denied if you're being objective. ANY team with Herschel would be an immediate NC contender.

Both were awesome, but I think Herschel received more respect in college. Herschel was huge, but Bo needed to prove himself after Auburn and he did that in a big way.

I remember being skeptical of Bo when we played Auburn in 1984, which wasn't a great year for us. He didn't do much for most of the game and we seemed to be on our way to winning. We had Auburn backed up deep inside their 20, but then Bo broke a long one for the Auburn win. Still pisses me off to this day.

If there was anyone at his age that could still play, it would be him.

It took me a few minutes to see that Herschel was the subject of that photo.

A photo like that could turn a gay, farm-animal-pleasuring aggy like me. I will go ahead and offer this as Exhibit A in support of UGA at #1 in the poon rankings.

Best quote from that documentary was "I wanted to join the marines b/c I wanted to kill people"

Bo Jackson never had to work out to be the athlete he was and he hated practice. Bo told the coaches lighten up on practices, save my legs for games. This puts Bo as number one. Walker 2nd

Herschel's worst finish in Heisman voting during his three year career was third

Herschel's never lost an SEC game

Herschel ran for 1000 more yards than Bo in three college seasons (as compared to Bo's four)

Bo was unquestionably better at baseball, but regarding football there is absolutely no debate.

And that show doesnt do him justice. Georgia was 6-5 the year before Herschel got there. THey had never really had a passing game. Andy Johnson was pretty good, Ray Goff attempted 29 passes in 1976, yes for the season, Buck Belue was serviceable but never eclipsed more than 1000 yds in a year, John Lastinger passed for about 900 yds in 1982 when UGA played for the national title.
Herschel literally carried the UGA offense. THey would have 10 play drives with him carrying the ball 9 times. Dooley had put together a good D at this time with Knox Culpepper, Jeff Sanchez, Terry Hoage, etc but I've never seen a player mean more to his team than Herschel. You stop Herschel, you win and teams still couldn't do it. Bo played on great teams around him. Lionel James, Tommy Agee, Trey Ganious and his backup Brent Fullwood not to mention the best defenses in Auburn history. Herschel was basically a one man show and friggin delivered.

Bo was/is great. I'm a big fan. He's phenominal.

But, Herschel practiced hard and never had to take it easy to "save" his legs.

That would be more impressive to me.

Herschel Walker put a team on his back and lead Georgia to 3 straight SEC titles and 3 straight national championship games. Everybody knew he was getting the ball, but nobody could stop him. There is no debate over who the better college running back was. Walker shits all over Bo Jackson in that regard. As far as the better athlete, that is very much open to debate and an argument could be made for either, but Herschel was a better football player.

Listening to Larry Munson call Georgia games in the 80's will get you ready for some football. Run Lindsay and My God a freshman are probably my two favorite calls not made by Keith Jackson or Eli Gold, sans "this ain't Kentucky" by uncle Verne but that was more of a comment than a call

Bo vs Herschel is a circle jerk argument. Always has been. Im old enough to have seen both play. I was in school with Bo. fricking A M A Z I N G.

At the same time, I got to see Herschel play as well and both were ridiculous athletes and were instantly the best athlete on the field when they played. Major respect to both men.

Great athletes, great representatives of their universities and their families. I just wish Bo had not gotten hurt. What might have been. Even so, it was fricking awesome at Auburn.
