Bama will look like shite with that boozer as an OC

That's the same guy that was the OC for all those great USC teams. He and Kiffin, and when Kiffin was hired, all you dorks claimed he would be a failure. For the record, though they were co-OCs at USC, Sarkisian was the QB coach.

Whether Jalen Hurts can develop a decent passing game is another issue.

Star for RB are a waste of time.

Alla of Alabama's recent 5 star RBs (using 247 composite):

2009 - Trent Richardson was a great college RB for Bama

2012 - TJ Yeldon was a very good college RB for Bama

2013 - Derrick Henry was a great college RB for Bama

2014 - Bo Scarbrough despite injuries had a good year last year and was showing signs of being a great college RB once healthy at the end of season (last 4 games after coming back from injury against 4 really good defenses AU, UF, UW, and most of Clem) he averaged 113 yards a game, 7.2/carry, and 6 TDs.

2015 - Damien Harris had a good year last year. Alabama spread the ball a lot but he still went for over 1000 and over 7 yards a carry

So far 5 for 5 with 5 star RBs in terms of being good to great in college in recent memory. Not really a disappointment among them so far.

*Ingram and Lacy (the other two most notable Bama backs during this time) were 4 star recruits

It is all about Systems at the RB position. For every player mentioned, there is a Pettway, Webb, Barber, Artis-PAYNE, Tre Mason or Josh Robinson with equal or better stats. RBs in College are becoming the same position that you see in the Pros. Just plug in someone as long as you have a decent QB.

What if a couple of those turn out to be busts? Yeah that looks amazing on paper but they have to produce on the field.

Not flaming, but as someone pointed out above, it's not like Bama has been lacking at the position.

Did you seriously just say this.

Did you look at there ypc last year? Also honestly out of this group I would say the 3 star Joshua Jacobs is the better back. He needs to get the most carries next year.

NAME CAR YDS AVG LONG TD
Damien Harris 145 1040 7.2 73 2
Jalen Hurts 191 954 5.0 60 13
Bo Scarbrough 125 812 6.5 85 (TD) 11
Joshua Jacobs 86 564 6.6 56 4
B.J. Emmons 35 173 4.9 17 1

This past year was one of the worse for Run Defense in the SEC overall.

Bama has done pretty well with 5* RBs over the last few years. Hell, some of them even peaked at Bama and more importantly, helped haul in the hardware in the process.

Could this be the greatest collection of raw talent at that position in the history of the SEC?

If only we had a quarterback who could complete a downfield pass.

As I said, the talent has been there for a while. Try fricking reading. There is no way to say they re better than some of the backfields trotted out over Saban's tenure. They all have been pretty fricking good.

I do. Did you even read the link you posted?

10. LSU
20. Auburn
26. USC
27. Washington
29. Clemson
35. Florida

two teams in the top 20 and four teams in the top 35. That's not too bad. Three of those teams from Out of Conference.

Did you bother looking up Ole Miss (119), Ark(93), TN (111), MSU (67), KY (108), and A&M (74). Then consider the PAC 12 is a passing league and you get a better look at the whole story.

So show me who has a better Strength of Schedule then. BTW USC and Washington had great defenses this year.

When do you remember the SEC having 4 teams 90 or worse in rushing Defense ? AL didn't play SC, but they were 88th on the list. That is almost Old Mountain West numbers.

Whatever dude how many SEC teams played 3 teams in the Top 35 in Run Defense for there out of conference schedule.

Dude 6 teams on there schedule was rank top 35. How many more teams does that backfield have to beat in a season to show that there is mad talent there.

There is only 128 teams, when 4 of your league competitors are in the bottom 1/3rd there is nothing to beat your chest about. Plus when you consider that the Offense in the league were down overall, you really have to scratch your head. How many yards rushing did Bama get against those 6 teams I mentioned vs the 6 teams in the top 35 ?

Good question.

USC: 242 yrds 5.4 ypc
LSU: 216 yrds 4.2 ypc
Auburn: 203 yrds 4.6 ypc
Florida: 234 yrds 6.2 ypc
Washington: 269 yrds 5.4 ypc
Clemson: 221 yrds 6.5 ypc

Not bad against top 35 teams I think. Again I ask you who has done better?
