Do you not know the definition of minority or understand the concept?

I'm not trying to start crap, but one thing I definitely wondered when going to the Ole Miss game... where are all the black people? The only ones I saw were maintenance crew cleaning up in the Grove, and football players. It seemed very odd to me. I may be wrong but I don't think you'd notice that at any other SEC school - even A&M where the black population is considerably smaller.

Idk what to tell you because there are plenty of black people around campus on game days. I don't know why you wouldn't have seen them. Our school is 16% black, which is second highest in the SEC.

Goddamn I get sick of this bullshite.

It would be like saying:

"Hey Aggy fans, I know you guys have a lot of Latinos in Texas and I went to the game in College Station and the only Mexicans I saw was the grounds crew and running the taco trucks around town, why weren't any in the stadium, what's the deal?"

Yeah, and they are the last school that can play the racist game, the Latino population in Texas are for the most part Longhorn fans...

Ole Miss has one of the higher percentages of black student populations in the SEC or they did.

Mississippi State has led the SEC for years in number of African Americans it graduates. We graduate more black students than all the HBC&U in MS do. It is a testament to "The People's University".

Must not be a quality education if you are actually trying to refute what I said...

I'll look harder in 2013? But probably not. Sorry for the offense, I guess, but it just seemed odd to me. The over-the-top response to Roger Klavin's smartass post (from an Auburn guy) served as a reminder of how odd it seemed. I would have guessed the ratio was higher than 16%.

It would in the least be no different than any other SEC school's gameday, and if you think otherwise you have never been to any of the other school's gameday.

But for some reason Ole Miss has to be called out on it.

Why would you have guessed this?

Ole Miss isn't a huge university, the state has several universities including several HBC&U.

The state also isn't the best in terms of public school students attending college.

Mississippi has a economical segregation going on in their high school system between public and private schools.

BTW: Full disclosure, Arkansas is one of the highest in terms of High School graduates attending College.

We also lead the nation in college drop outs after Freshmen and Sophomore years.

"Aggy" set aside for a moment... the commandant of the Corps is a classmate of mine and Latino. I have no idea what the enrollment of Latinos at A&M is, but whatever the number if they aren't showing up for football games I'd wonder why. Mississippians are understandably overly sensitive about racial issues and after living here 30 years I get that. It just surprised me to see zero black fans at an Ole Miss game.

You must not have gone by the cotton field on the south side of campus.

yes, Freeze is one of the premier coaches in the SEC.

I truly believe that. I'd take him in Knoxville over anyone not named Saban or Spurrier.

Don't I know it! I grew up in small town Texas with a school teacher mother. Transplanted to Mississippi, there was no way in hell I was sending my kids to 1) a Catholic school or 2) a private school so bad it isn't accredited and graduates still need a GED to get into college or 3) an Episcopalian boarding school that had a reputation for producing juvenile delinquents. But after 3 kids in public schools... I'm starting to rethink my position, just 10 years late. Welcome to the South, and all that.

But if I'm picking on anybody it is Ole Miss, not the state of Mississippi. And I really didn't mean to pick on the Rebs, much. I just thought it was very odd. I'm pretty sure I'd see more black fans at MSU or even A&M (with a much smaller black population).

What does Hugh Freeze getting a raise have to do with you not wanting to hangout with black people in Oxford?
