Dude was the next big deal, and now he is a footnote?

Reminds me of Jeremy Johnson, who went from Heisman contender to national joke in 2 games.

I haven't followed him closely. But dude went for over a K last year, and now he is a situational sub?

Was it injuries?

Did he pull a Jamarcus Russell and decide to eat his way out of the game?

Any insight?

Plantar Fascitis. Very very difficult to get well from. he may be done. I was surprised Gus played him.

He's hurt and has been for every big game his entire career, but he's also just not that good a running back and never has been. His entire 2016 season was built off of stats against teams that couldn't tackle and finished ranked in the bottom 1/3 nationally in run defense.

He's a fine change up, fullback type player, but against good defenses who can tackle and fill a gap he's never going to be more than a guy who averages 3.0 YPC.

He’s nothing like Johnson. Pettway dominated the line of scrimmage for most of last season. Johnson never did shite.

I think Pettway’s been injured, got a big head from last season, and hasn’t had good opportunities to get back into rhythm.

So Harris is overrated too then, right? Some real killer defenses he’s faced the last few weeks.

9 carries, 138 yards vs Southern Cal (15.3 YPC)
8 carries, 86 yards vs Florida (10.8 YPC)
9 carries, 73 yards vs Florida State (8.1 YPC)

I don't think D. Harris is the best running back in America or anything, but D. Harris has proven he can run against very good run defenses at least 3 times in his career.

Go ahead and show me Pettway's solid performance against a good run defense. It doesn't exist. He's a good situational back who, when healthy, is a nice piece to a running attack. But he is nothing more than that.

I had that. It took a year to recover but I was still able to exercise and play sports. Its just those first couple of steps every morning that are a bitch

If that's what it actually is, he shouldn't be in the game at all. Not only is he hobbled, but it will not ever heal if he's running on it.

Me too. I played league tennis without ever stopping for hours at a time several days a week for a year before it got better. It hurts like hell the first thing in the morning but is manageable with a shoe insert and ibuprofen.
