Sheesh. That must have been a pontiac only version ... I thought all those SS GM cars that year had the small blocks 302, 327, 350 or either the big blocks, what were they, 396 or 402s, the 454s? Hell, I can't remember.

My first new car was a 69 Corvette, with a 350/350 with these really high compression piston ratios and it would fly - but it also got me in a lot of trouble. Red, with tan saddle leather interior and T-Tops with the removable back glass. I've got a picture of that thing around somewhere, I need to find that. I paid $5,400.00 for it brand new. It would be worth ten times that today. Wish I had kept it.

I remember watching Halley's Comet in my backyard with my parents and I remember getting taken out of class to watch the Challenger launch... It was a big deal cause a teacher was on board.... None of us understood why the teachers and TAs were all crying when they walked us back to class... I remember getting a Nintendo for Xmas in 1985 and crying when we threw out my oldest brother's Atari cause I was a badass at Pitfall and River Raider.

"Yep... "The Eagle has landed" part 2. Gus will dispatch Saban like Pat did the Bear."

Do you really believe that? Seriously?

I remember when Eddie Murphy was a stand up comic, you could get your arse whipped in public by your mom and no one cared, we prayed in school, a gondola from the World's Fair stretched across the Mississippi River in NOLA, MTV played music videos all day, all of your "cable" channels fit on one knob, Magic didn't have aids, seatbelts were optional, everyone hated communist, and "skinamax" was the only "porn" on tv

I remember Tulane Stadium filled to capacity (86,000+) for the last LSU-Tulane game played on the Tulane campus. What a night. Not because LSU lost but because Tulane won. The stadium and the neighborhood were alive that night. I went as an LSU fan, and was disappointed when they lost. But I couldn't help being a little happy for the Tulane folks who had endured 25 years of frustration at the hands of the Tigers. I think there were a couple of 62-0 beatdowns in those 25 years.

I remember getting my first phone from my room from the phone company, because you couldn't purchase them in the store.

I remember making mix tapes on my boom box off the radio station with my Memorex cassettes.

I remember leaving my stretch Armstrong on my moms hat rack and it melting into a blob one summer.

I remember walking 2 miles to the store to buy a handful of candy for .25

I remember knowing every single person that passed by on the road when I would do that.

I remember when it wasn't a Saturday of watching college fball if you didn't hear the 3 Dave's in the AM and then Ronny Franklin that night, the Internet was new, Deion was the biggest star in sports, Brett Favre was a drunk backup, Jim Harbaugh was winning playoff games, MJ retired the first time, and I got the first recruiting burn of my life when Peyton put on the UT hat.
