We expected a step forward next year since 2013. Now that seems difficult.

So we should revisit the 'aTm won't be shite without JFF' threads?

i think this is bad, but yall are being dramatic. recruiting shifts in a second.

He kept Mark Snyder after 2013 and waited until after the LSU game to fire him.

He waited until yesterday to fire probably the worst offensive line coach in college football

He has basically fricked up the DC search by insisting that candidates keep HIS current coordinators (Price, Hagan, Joseph) for recruiting purposes

No, that is OK I remember.

This is about more than losing two recruits. Its how we lost them, who we lost them to, who else we won't get because of it, and how in less than a full cycle after his leaving we have lost all JFF momentum.

It really is starting to look pretty simple why we suck. Sumlin hired awesome recruiters to be position coaches. None of those guys could coach worth a damn. Hell, if Snyder didn't have much control over his own position coaches, he might not have been the real problem.

Chavis was not a serious candidate in our eyes. When we heard that Sumlin was dicking around trying to get him while multiple stud recruits were waiting for us to hire a DC, that pissed people off. Nobody is pissed that he didn't land Chavis. We are pissed that he went for Chavis (if that rumor is really true).

Recruits flip/decommit all the time and there is no guarantee that who he hires as DC would have wowed them enough to stay, if they were willing to leave that quick. If who he gets is that good then the same recruits might come running back.

I mean who exactly does/did he have a great shot at that won't still come? If he hurried and hired a weaker DC then the recruits would have likely left anyways.

I'm out of the loop but do you blame Sumlin or the DC fiasco for the recruitment flips?

It is not about the flips. You ask me back in September and I thought Malik would be at Texas. What sucks is what happened since then.

These go hand in hand. Sumlin has been given complete control of everything.

The story is that Chavis and Sumlin have a deal on the down low to be announced soon.

Of course it isn't true, but I would never stop laughing if it somehow were.

I guess I don't understand why going after Chavis seems so ridiculous to LSU fans. A&M certainly has the resources to money-whip him and he certainly would not be walking into a program without a lot of talent on hand. I know Chavis is a fixture at Lsu, but nothing ventured - nothing gained as they say.

Maybe this is a troll, but no NFL team in history has ever said "we better not draft this WR early, his college team lost a lot of games!"

Poor scumlin, second best to Les Miles at every turn. He can't beat les on the field and then off the field les forces him to lose two recruits

This is total bull...
1st Chavis is loyal to Miles.
2nd Chavis is a great DC but not a great recruiter. aTm can't close the deal with recruits, chavis can't help with that.
3rd Why would Chavis leave all the talent at LSU

It's completely made up bullshite by some mod somewhere to make them feel better about not getting any DC to this point.

"OH hey Chavis said he was thinking about aTm to Sumlin dropped looking at Durkin and the Michigan guy in hope of getting him" - yeah fricking right

Chavis is the quietest most loyal asst. coach in college probably.
