There are less than two minutes left and the tigers go for it on 4th and 4. This was not a run play, it was a screen pass to the flats that had been open the entire game. The vols were obviously stacking the box expecting a run. It's amazing how the LSU fan base is trying to justify this classless and disrespectful play at the end of the game. Congrats you beat a rebuilding team that is missing its starting qb and best receiver, glad you need style points to make the score look better! I never cheer for Bama under any circumstances, but I hope they throttle the Tigers!
So full of fail. LSU threw a grand total of 17 passes all game long. If LSU wanted to, they could have let Jarrett Lee throw 30 times and LSU would have scored 50 on Rocky Top. You explained it yourself, that it was 4th and 4, Tennessee was stacking 9 people in the box, so they weren't letting LSU just run the clock out, they were still trying to get a defensive stop. Jarrett Lee checked to a bubble screen which actually was a running play, check the stats. It's not LSU's fault that Tennessee can't tackle a receiver.

If LSU doesn't run up the score on cupcakes, why would they run up the score on the Vols?
So the Vols stack the box, expecting the run up the middle on 4th and 4.
Why would LSU ever run up the middle into that?
The pass wasn't a downfield bomb... it wasn't even into the endzone. It was practically a lateral.
Learn to fricking tackle, and there's nothing to discuss.

Any vol fan that complains about the score being "ran up" is a bitch plain and simple and should start cheering for vandy. We should have stopped them if we didn't want them to score again. Good luck to LSU the rest of the season I hope ya'll win it all and especially beat bammer.
Go Vols
Go Vols

Why was Jarret Lee still in the game and throwing passes? I kid I kid.

What team in the top 15 couldn't run the score up on the vols right now!? That's not the point. You dont have to kneel the ball (to the idiot asking if thats the solution!) No one would be pissed with a field goal? Run up the middle where the tigers were getting 5 yds at a time? There were several options that would have shown a hell of a lot more class than running a pass play that had worked very effectively all day! I understand we suck right now and our DBs obviously can't tackle, but what's the point in throwing an extra touchdown in our face?!

At first I thought we could have done something different, but you have changed my opinion.

I feel sorry for your children. I bet you make them their very own special trophies for riding the bench and being waterboys.

So you want LSU players to fail on purpose because they were beating UT so badly?

Vols up in arms...
about LSU's final touchdown.
Tell them to pro rate it back to last year.

Miles has established that he never runs it up. UT does still have to stop us, even if we are just running out the clock.

It was pretty shitty to throw with under 3 min left.

"Shown a hell of a lot more class"? You mean like throwing your headset down and running off of the field like a whiny bitch without greeting the opposing coach at midfield like Dooley did last year. Honestly, I think this decision had a little "F-U" in it for Dooley.

Jumpin' Jesus, not the Vols, too. Guns are not the answer! First LSU vs. Alabama war, now this. Can't we all just get along?

According to the stat sheet it wasn't a pass, it was a fricking run. Quit bitching. If we were to "run up" the score, then maybe we would have play passed to Randle in the endzone on 4th and 4 with 9 in the box.

Until........you get throttled by Bama next weekend. Take it like a man, do a better job of competing, and quit spreading the "trophy's for all" mentality.

If it was a pass play, why didn't Lee get credit for a touchdown pass?

Nick Saban used to say while at LSU, "If you kick the field goal, you are taking the sure points, and thus running up the score. If you just run the ball on 4th down, you give the other team a chance to stop you."
LSU had a run called, Jarrett Lee saw 9 people stacked between the tackles so he checked to the quick bubble screen outside. Tennessee defensive backs couldn't tackle Russell Shepard so LSU scored another td.

I didn't think LSU did anything wrong. I also haven't heard any other people up here saying anything about it.

Hey, did the Vols do the Wizard of Oz halftime show again? Or was that a one trick pony?

Y'all the ones that got rid of Fulmer, one of the best coaches UT has ever had and now y'all are an afterthought. No mercy from us.
