That's the toughest part, I would imagine. Those two are preseason All SEC talents.
Was the DT that was booted from the team the same guy who was injured in the A&M game? Did he play much?
Yeah, there's no replacing those guys.
Yes, O'Brien was the one injured and he was 5th year senior that had been playing the best ball of his career. It's a big loss but McKenzie and Tuttle have been played very well against A&M.

ep...same one. Starter at DT.

tough loss. hope the kid gets whatever he's dealing with straightened out for his sake.
Me, too. He was a pretty highly touted kid coming out of HS, who was finally coming into his own at the spot during his Senior season. He posted on twitter that he took full responsibility for the dismissal, so I'm guessing that he had had been warned about whatever it was more than once.

Hoping Kamara gets the most carries Saturday even though this will be a game we need Hurd's physicality.
If Butch is reading this...
I would let Hurd to the bulk of the carries and would put Kamara in the slot on a linebacker (Anderson or Harrison). This, TE over the middle, and Dobbs running will be your yard makers.

I would expect to see Hurd and Kamara both in the game at the same time a lot Saturday.

We are going to need McDowell available to give Kirkland or Jumper a breather every now and then. God help VOLS if Butch is forced to trot out Gavin Bryant or Elliott Berry for significant snaps against Alabama
If Kirkland's injury was a high ankle sprain I wouldn't expect him to be 100%. It was a high ankle sprain, correct?

Recovery was expected to be 4-6 weeks originally iirc. 5 weeks will be this Saturday but I get what you're saying about it being a lingering injury.

I assume 70-90% but worth a go with a bye week next week to rest up if it gets dinged at all.

A little worse, I think most expected JRM to be back for this game and Danny OBrien getting the boot was also unexpected. If Cortez and Weisman can return it won't be too bad but still not great/what I would want vs. Bama.

LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin and CB Cameron Sutton are out.
If they both played I could believe we have a chance.

You have a solid source on this, Walt?

RB Jalen Hurd is expected to be 100% and will play.

Maybe two. He's had a lot of stingers though.

Butch said something at his PC yesterday about getting Kamara and Kelly more touches when Hurd returns. I will be beyond pissed if the carries are split like they were before A&M

Reubens biggest issue was always stingers, but this certainly isn't his first concussion.
