I think ABC/ESPN is better for the SEC. You thought they pumped us up now just imagine if they owned the rights to the game of the week.

Awww, I kinda feel bad for him...

But... Jewel-i-o Jones... and Jav-e-air Arenas... For 3 fricking years... while they called Alabama games almost every weekend. The "J" sounds like an "H" you moron... it's not that fricking hard.

bullshite Verne, you just didn't care anymore. I wouldn't either if I was drinking good scotch and still had job security. Go eat your Jal-a-penos and drink your Don Jewel-i-o

Verne is ok. He's just old and losing it.

Danielson is a fricking disaster though. I wish it was him that was leaving.

I'll miss Uncle Vern.

Davis would be legit.

So what else would Rece get at CBS? Clearly it has to be more than just 1 SEC game a week.

- SEC games
- College Basketball including Final Four
- Masters?
- some sort of radio show? Not sure he would want that

My guess is he would want to be groomed to basically take over Jim Nantz's position.

Exactly, his role is already 10 times as big with ESPN.

Todd Blackledge could go back to CBS or Brad Nessler would be a good choice. Guys that already do one or two games a week would be a likely choice.

Rece is really good. I hate to see him have to do that stupid court room segment with Mark May and that slobbering senile fricker. He calls a good game and I think he would be a good choice.

I love Verne. How anybody hates him is beyond me. It's like watching football with my grandfather.

I'd love to see CBS swoop in and get Nessler/Blackledge/Rowe for the SEC game of the week.

Oh, and get new music too.

except that it wasnt long ago that it was announced that cbs may get out of college football at the end of the sec contract, was it not? and if they do, why would rece make that move?

still have a broadcaster who is biased in favor of Alabama. Of course I'm talking about Gary Danielson.
Here's what I don't get. People understand that color commentators aren't pulling for either team, right? It's not Gary's fault that his job is to pick apart what teams are doing right and what teams are doing wrong, and it's DEFINITELY not his fault that more often than not Alabama is the team doing something right.

Dont'a Hightower.

Times called Dante by most media outlets, maybe around 50%

Times called Dante by Verne, a guy specifically dedicated to knowing and covering the SEC, 100%.

How do you pronounce it?
