This thread will prove who the most delusional gumps are! Sarc is one of them. I have to look back thru to see the others. It is just plain ignorance. There would be so many injuries it would be unreal. Can you imagine Bama OLINE against an NFL defense? McCarron would quit after a few series

The whole topic was started because Spurrier said Bama could beat the weakest NFL teams. Spurrier knows more about football than you do.

Are you as delusional as the other Gumps! This has to be the funniest of all Bama threads. And you know deep down that some of the gumps on here really believe they could win or cover

You say this, and it may be true for you, but I promise you there are some bama fans that actually think it would be a close game, or like ehole said would cover the spread.

I think a lot of people are missing the biggest difference of all. The entire college team would be seeing their first NFL action, ever. First time seeing an NFL defense. First time seeing an NFL receiving corp for the DB's., etc.

It takes even the best NFL rookies time to adjust to the speed of the NFL game.

24 points is a close game?

And this is a freaking hypothetical shot in the dark stab at a line, between 2 teams in 2 different levels of the sport that will never play. I'm sure they didn't put a lot of thought into getting even money on each side.

If those 2 teams were playing each other this weekend, the line would not be 24.

Well, the accusation is that Bama fans (me specifically) are crazy for thinking the game would be close. I said that it would be close for 3 quarters and the 24 number isn't ridiculous. Others are saying the number should be 50+, so I guess "close" is relative.

HERRRRP bammers think they could hang with an NFL team DERRRRP.

Vegas made the line, not sidewalk bammers. No shite they would win by 24+, but that's closer than anyone else could keep it

So, the point basically is...

Bama:Grinders :: NFL team:Bama

Why must there be the worst NFL team/best college team discussion every year?

Because the guys on the college team would be in the NFL if they didn't have to stay three years in college. The college guys aren't scrubs. It's NFL talent vs. NFL talent. It's just that one of the teams is all NFL talent and the other is merely a substantial majority.

More succinctly, I believe this discussion happens every year because I actually believe there've been years where the college team would have won.

Bama sees an NFL defense every day in practice

But the UA fans are saying that UA can keep it closer than that. In all honesty I think KC would smoke Bama like Honeybadger in a pot field. NFL speed > College speed. KC is full of fast mean veteran Pros's, Bama not so much. It is a fun discussion though.

Your post is stupid. Dumb. Retarded. Absurd. Ridiculous. Nonsensical. Possibly written by a third grader.

You act like an NFL defense is comprised of a different species.

The talent differential between the Bama players and the FAU players was miles and miles and miles greater than the differential between Bama and the Chiefs.

And that's fact. That's not disputable.

I saw Bama play FAU. Weirdly, I didn't see the limbs of FAU players littered all around the field after each play.

Moron.

Two things:

1)A future NFL star as a freshman or sophomore in college isn't near as good as he is when he hits his potential. Was Tom Brady as good in 1998 as he was in 2008? Just because they go on to be great doesn't mean they're always good all the time.

2)Bama (using this example from the OP) this year has plenty of NFL talent. But not every player on the team will play in the NFL. Not all will get drafted, and not all that drafted will make an impact. Some might not get higher than 2nd string, some might not make a practice squad. Then you're gonna put that up against a team full of 22 NFL starters, who were good enough to beat out other NFL caliber athletes to start for their team.

In one or two particular instances like maaaayybeeee one of bama's OL 1v1 against a KC DL, the bama player could get the better of him and win the day. But across the board, 22 on 22, it's just simply absurd to think a college team could stay close with a bunch of grown arse NFL pros.

We've all seen how Saban does when coaching against NFL teams. He'd probably be forced to retire.

that's another thing. So many rookies say by far the biggest adjustment from college to pro is the speed. Just like going from high school to the SEC. The game is just on another level.
