Not trying to start any shite here, as LSU sucked pre Bertman, but I'll give Polk & the dawgs all the credit in the world, as they got SEC baseball off & running to where it is now. But, a serious question & not a flame, how many of those yrs of the cocks winning were when you were in the ACC? Sorry for drawing a blank, but cann't recall when you guys left the ACC. Which teams were any good in that league back then? Obviously, the cocks are a premier team in the country now, so congrats on your success.

You're forgetting Ross Mitchell hasn't pitched much at all this weekend. He has easily 3 innings left in him.

This. If Lindgren is off early, get his arse out and put in Mitchell!

Ross threw 40 plus in 2 games plus you have the warm up sessions in both games. I would be surprised to see Mitchell as the first go to after Lingren poops in his nest.

He's not a power guy, he's a loose, rubber armed, finesse lefty. He'll be fine to give us at least 2 if not 3 to 4 innings, if doing the job.

Yeah I think it would be a slim chance for the committee to turn down a 40 win, top 10 rpi, top 5 SOS team down... with a win today

We were in the ACC from 1953-1971. We were independent from then on to 1992.

We were in the ACC for those first two years, 70 and 71, of our current run. After that we played an independent schedule every year, consisting of Miami, FSU, Va Tech, Louisville, Memphis State, Tulane, Ga Tech, etc., plus our yearly series with Clemson and so-on and so-forth.

It was, by far, a tougher schedule than the SEC was playing at the time because we still played some of our ACC rivals like UNC and NC State who were already playing good baseball, plus we actually have better instate baseball from teams like Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston, The Citadel, etc., than most states do.

So, this is not a flame, but if you believe the SEC was playing better baseball than the independents we were playing from 70-90, then you might want to go back and check the history books.

At the same time, we're proud to be in the same league with LSU - the run through the 90s might never been matched again unless we can somehow manage to put together a similar run this decade.

He is usually one of my favorite umpires. Don't know about getting thrown out but I know he broke his arm and stayed in the game. Came back next day in a cast.
